Gene Hackman was pretty good in that movie, but overall it was laughable over the top rubbish as historical background, as are most Hollywood attempts at dramatic representations of history.

WAit, wrong movie; Hackman was in Mississippi Burning, not this one. Never mind.

I did like Sandra Bullock and Ashley Judd's performances in this one. Same criticism, though, over the top rubbish.
