There may be counseling that will help you direct your energies in the right direction. Churches, family affairs divisions, free legal groups. Do you go to a church? Can your pastor or priest talk with you?

I wish the police would jail people that lied to them about someone. It is sad that people be not telling the truth just to get the other in jail.

Nothing stoping them

If they accuse a LEO of a Crime and sign a complaint, and if the complaint is false they have committed a crime and be charged with, False reporting of a crime, and in Civil Court they can be sued for Defaming of reputation and money loss can run very high. If this same jerk tries it at a later date he will have a problem proving any charges.

Just a point ... police don't jail people ... the courts do.

Police can arrest people for the purposes of being brought before the court. The court determines if they receive bail or jail.
