Then they well give up their Government Paycheck, just like other Government Workers have been forced to do under the Republican Party Shut-Down.

They aren't giving up jack shit.

They will get their backpay at our expense.

What they should do is either use their VK time or not get payed just as anyone in the private sector would have to do.

Your an idiot.

Many of them are giving up their paycheck. They are giving it up to charity.

Uh, 83% of the government is still working - and the Nonessential Workers are going to be paid anyway.

Considering the damage they have done, giving up their paycheck is a token gesture

Many of them have and you forgot to thank Harry and Barak better known as team no for their part in making the shutdown happen.

What damage?

We have the media acting like the sky is falling. Yet the effects of any furlough is that when the budget is approved, all the workers will get backpay. They are in essence getting a paid vacation with the pay coming on a delayed plan.

To Republicans, damage means barricades on some monuments and some dissapointed tourists

Meanwhile, Government is operating on a shoestring. They are deferring critical decisions and contracts because they cannot be sure of funding. Government travel is curtailed, meetings are postponed. Medium and long term projects are being stretched out, contractors are not being paid.

And all Republicans protest is the closing of the WWII memorial

My problem was not the closing of the memorial but the opening of the closed national mall so Nancy Pelosi could hold a immigration rally if the government could manage to do that for a Pelosi rally why not for the veterans? Either open both or close both but don't make transparent exception for a voting block who's support you want.
