Geeze Louise it's for a short period of time. You want to see the bills for all former Presidents? Yikes. But all in all even though I can bitch about some of the retirement perks, security for any President or his family is not to be messed with.

In 1997 I think it was there was a bill passed that former Presidents and wives could only get protection for 10 years after leaving office.

What's the difference between NYC and DC? DC has already had all the security hardware and systems already in place. Trump towers didn't, and there was a large expense for the extra NYC police, installing the barriers and other security measures, as well as the fact that the SS is taking up a whole floor in the towers and they have to pay rent while they are there.

How come Trump can't let them stay there for free? He owns the building, and he is the one needing the security for his family.
