If this is true, we are in trouble...

These statistics are claimed to be true:
1. 50% of American wage earners earn less than $30k.
2. 63% of Americans can’t afford a $1,000 emergency.
3. 80% of American workers live pay check to pay check.
4. Since 1973 American productivity has increased by 77%, yet hourly pay has grown by 12%. If the minimum wage was tracked to productivity, it would be over $20 an hour today.
5. 41% of American workers earn less than $12 per hour, with most without employer provided HC.
6. Since 2008 the federal government and the Fed created $26 trillion out of nothing. Was any of this enormous sum spent on infrastructure, public education, universal HC, bail out 5.1 million people who lost their homes?

Not a pretty picture for the poor and middle class. Hopefully things are improving or we are headed for big trouble.
then go see how many of those families have multiple cellular phones and internet payments of hundreds of dollars a month. most likely the same as rent payments.

A monthly landline phone bill with long distance was around 20 a month, cell phones with data packages are upwards around 130 dollars a month and those with multiple phones even higher. Multiple land lines was a five dollar charge for the phone's service charges.

TV use to be free over the airwaves/ antenna tv. today people are paying 150 dollars a month for cable or satellite tv.

Internet didn't exist and now people pay over 80 dollars a month.

Technology steals peoples money.

Socialist policies and ifnignor the Constitution got us here. All the warnings we're given to not do those things. We didn't listen. And here we are.

Capitalist policies got us here.

It might sound "Cool" that it's Commies hiring Illegal Immigrants on farms, in construction, and restaurants, it might sound "Cool" that Commies are shipping your jobs to China, Vietnam, and Mexico, it might sound "Cool" that Commies are laying people off, and jacking up prices.

But, that's not reality, the reality is this is all Capitalists.

Capitalism is FAILING us big time, just like Communism FAILED too.

Capitalism requires regulation, plain, and simple.
Baloney socialist programs caused the unfunded programs. Those were reserved for the states, which limit govt power.

Unfunded programs? What are you even talking about?
Unfunded liabilities. Pensions and, S.S., and medicaid

Explain how these social programs hurt America?

Not only does it help the lower & middle class survive & raise families or retire in many cases.

I fail to see the economic harm?

Considering it helps the lower & middle classes become better consumers who thus spend more back into the economy due to being better off financially.

I do however have an issue with chronic crutch welfare abuse.

Which we should really have the government dump welfare recipients into jobs that are needed & otherwise would be taken by illegals.
21 Trillion reasons

we do reward our athletes and entertainers with ridiculous amounts of money for contributing nothing to society. that needs to stop. CEO pay in some cases is also ridiculous and that also should be curtailed. BUT how do we do that in a free society?

You don't stop any of it. In a free society, we are free to give our money to whoever we desire.

We spend the most on healthcare by far in the World, We are #3 in government spending, and #1 when you count for out of pocket + government spending.

How does that help us be better consumers, or help us have a better well being?

How does having rich people horde money improve anything? Like Bezos, Gates, or Buffet who are all Democrats BTW.

So, it makes sense to have the rich have the most money, and horde it into "Overinvestment" and not even spend it?
or
Does it make sense to have the poor be better consumers, and spend back into the economy?

Obviously, it makes much more sense for the poor to be better consumers, not only does it help the poor, (Obviously) the rich get the money back into their businesses, anyways.

So, everybody wins, society wins.

The problem is Individualists are f*cking either really retarded, or really psychopathic.

Either way, No Individualism is Bull.

What's best for society, is what's best.

If all of society benefits from a measure, then it all benefits.

I don't really care about the Individual "MInority" be it the rich Jew that Republicans think need the most help, or the poor Illegal Mexican that Democrats think need the most help.

We need better alternatives, Democrats, and Republicans are each terrible choices.

Debase your currency you destroy your country. You cause the buying power of your poor to make decent living. Cost your nation 364 Billion in interest payments on the debt. This is unsustainable. It is the road to disaster.

The USSR collapsed financially. We are doing the same. The only reason we haven't folded yet is that we have the World's reserve currency based on oil. That value has died. If the Depegs our currency to another we are done .

This is about the survival of our nation. Nothing being discussed here matters more than that. People ignore it to our peril.

Globalist want a new currency. Basket. They will take us under.

This stuff has been true for a long time

Americans do not save
Do not like to save
Yeah it is all the fault of poor and middle class. Government, establishment, political parties, capitalism, the ruling class are blameless.

LMFAO!

The government establishment, political parties, capitalism, the ruling class never made me spend more than I make
The government establishment, political parties, capitalism, the ruling class never stopped me from saving money

Stop blaming everyone else for your failures
It has nothing to do with saving or spending. It has everything to do with opportunity, freedom, and justice for all.

I’ve done extraordinarily well but unlike you, I care about my fellow man and the future of the country.

When enormous wealth is obtained by a small elite, opportunity, freedom, and justice are diminished for the vast majority of the people. We are witnessing it first hand but some like you, are blind to reality.

Savings leads to opportunity.

Saving leads to financial freedom

If you save your money you will be in control of your own fate.

So if you really cared about your fellow man you would be telling them to save their money and not denigrating them by telling them that the fucking government has to come to their aid.

You did well but do you really think everyone else is so pathetic they can't do as well or better than you unless the fucking government steps in?

Life is way more expensive. My parents got their house, which is 2x the size of mine for 25% of the cost. The cable bill back then was like $50. Now I pay $250. There was no cell phone bill. Now I pay $350. Car prices and gas prices have skyrocketed. College tuition and food costs are way up. Middle class gets squeezed. Wealthy don’t care and the poor get enough Govt support to continuously game the system.
You pay 600 a month for cable and a cell phone?

Get HULU and a Trac phone

I have six lines on my phone and no, I like my cable but thanks. I know there are alternatives. I also have Amazon Prime and Netflix.
Then stop whining how expensive it is.

Ha ha at improving. Don't hold your breath, we're no longer the only game in town thanks to globalization, technology and over-population. Add a liberal immigration policy that without question drives down our standard of living. Add unnecessary entitlements, this regulation and that, high fucking taxes.

Winston Churchill was absolutely right: “The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings. The inherent virtue of Socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.” —House of Commons, 22 October 1945.

Yeah, because Capitalists continue to ship tax base to China, Vietnam, and Mexico, be it the taxes on the Corporate facilities, or the taxes on the workers incomes.

Furthermore, there's a bunch of Capitalists hiring Illegals who take more out of the economy, than they pay into the economy in taxes.

2A, I see Trump as doing his best to tear it down further. We tried healthcare, which Republicans stripped and starved without a scintilla of replace. And why did 5.1 million people lose their homes? Seems like that began in 2006-7 and was slowly decreasing by 09. I don't know how true it is, but surely you too heard that the loss of jobs with healthcare is responsible for the loss of homes. Now we have jobs mostly part-time without benefits for a huge percentile of our people, loss of overtime ala Trump, loss of even CHIP ala Trump, threat of cuts to Medicare and SS ala McConnell, no infrastructure in the pipeline, and fear, Fear, FEAR spread by the biggest liar since the snake in the Garden of Eden.. who is still going strong passing pipe dreams to the crowds that allow him to pump them full of scapegoats.

By not getting screwed when paying for it, especially since healthcare in the US today is a capitalist racketeer company store monopoly.

Under that line of thinking, government should pay our house or rental insurance, our car insurance, life insurance, appliance, lawn and garden equipment insurance.

After all, according to you, the federal government is now constitutionally obligated so no American ever gets screwed. I would love to know where that clause is in the document.

You don't believe the government has any obligation to guard against it's citizens from getting hurt?

States should decide. Not the Feds. People in one state may not agree with another. They should decide these issues. So if you have a very liberal state they can't force the rest to do the same when they disagree

That's a cliff down the road. Hit the breaks or go to the abyss

The chamber of commerce buys both parties. They want open borders for cheap labor. They lobby both sides.

The Chamber of Commerce is the heart of Capitalism in America, no?

Not sure how accurate those stats are, but things have changed since I was a young man starting out.

Back then, I was taught:

1 week's pay is for housing. The next week's is for food and bills. The next 2, you either spend or save.

It doesn't work like that now. It still does for me, somehow, but not for many.

Certainly not for anyone in the position I was in back then.

I was making $1150/wk back then..that included side jobs.
Works if you have a good job and affordable rent. If you're one of those trying to get by on a 30k income, you're gonna spend half on housing and the rest on food and bills. You'll be lucky to save anything. More likely your money runs out before the month does.
