The Centers For Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) now recommends that all Americans wear cloth masks in public spaces to help prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus. As a general rule, doctors suggest wearing a mask even while you're exercising, and cycling is no exception.
Shoshana Ungerleider, MD, an internist at Crossover Health in San Francisco and founder of End Well, told POPSUGAR that wearing a mask while riding your bike is especially important in densely populated areas. "If you're biking in a city where others are around you, you should wear a mask," Dr. Ungerleider said. Keep more than the standard six feet between you and others, and if you're ever feeling unwell, stay home.
"Breathing harder, like during exercise, may release more virus into the air as you're taking deeper and harder breaths," she said. This means it's possible that breathing during exercise causes more viral spread, especially if you're outside where the wind can blow, causing droplets to travel even further.

If you're biking in a more rural area where no one is around, it's safe to ride without a face covering, Dr. Ungerleider explained - but always bring a mask with you to have handy in case you cross paths with someone.

Please post a valid source stating that masks have been proven to be effective against COVID-19. I have spent many a hour scouring for information from the scientifiic papers that are currently online for free. Where did you find that report because it must be very hard to find? The closest article I found in support still added "however, coronavirus particle sizes, often smaller than the size of the holes of the material. A recommendation is one thing for wearing masks, but stating it's been proven to be preventing deaths or serious illness is quite another and to my knowledge has not been the case. Feel free to enlighten me.

On that note we agree Coyote. I am waiting for the plant-based Canadian option to hit the fan...it's coming soon to all states but just in a few currently. Trials will end relatively soon. No risk for adversive outcome (death included) as with the 3 out using animal based vaccines on chicken eggs. The plant based option will be big for vegans who are vaccine hesitant like me *vaccine hesitant, not to be confused with anti-vaccine.

My husband is anaphylacticly allergic to eggs, so there isn't yet a safe option for him
