Ignore the Haters: Obama Helped Save the U.S. Economy

The labor force participation rate is falling, and will continue to fall as long as we have a huge public and private debt overhang.

The stock market climb is fueled by massive monetary "easing" by the Fed. This is unsustainable, and unless real economic principles get a foothold again, it will all come crashing down even worse than before.

Obama is great at redistributing wealth, but he is clueless as to how to create it.

Gosh, I wonder if that could have anything to do with the economic crash?

Uh. The recession supposedly ended in 2009, bub.

Yeah....I thought The Emperor saved us all?? Were we wrong?

Hmmmmmmm...a crash that ended a couple of months after Obama took office no less.
Yes, and everyone magically got back to full employment the next day at the same pay they had before the crash. Right? Right?

See my post which follows that one.

"...decreases in participation typically lagged improvement in the economy by several years."

Obama s Economic Record Is Strong Even Though Wages Are Stagnant New Republic

I call him Superman, seems many who know what they are talking about, agree.

Imagine if rightwingers bent on destroying Obama and the country, if necessary, wouldnt insist on austerity...

To understand just how damaging austerity is, one has to look no further than Europe. Forced by Germany into steep austerity, Greece, Italy and Spain have taken drastic steps to cut their spending. But that hasn’t unlocked stronger economic growth, as conservative economic theory predicted. Instead, unemployment is at 27 percent, 12.3 percent and 24.4 percent in those three countries respectively. In the Euro area, the unemployment rate is still 11.5 percent.

Indeed. We are quickly becoming a country of "takers" instead of "makers". At the present rate - more people in this country will NOT be working than working by 2022. We will not make it that far I fear. You are correct. Now that QE has stopped, there is nothing "propping up" this phony economy. One or two blows - and this straw house will come tumbling down.

We're out over $50K in disposable income over the past six years by the end of this year due to obama energy policy alone. We make close to six figures combined, one kid in college yet we have to share a donated 2000 Honda Civic and can't qualify for a loan for the cheapest new car on the market.
Superman?
He's a hack leader and a socialist. Affirmative Action Jackson most likely didn't finish high school and was socially promoted and unchallenged all of his life because of his perceived skin color. Pseudo black man.
Obama voters owe the rest of us reparations.

Indeed. But, to be fair, The Emperor DID save us from the "Greatest depression since the Great Depression". Remember? :)

Yeah, right. I almost forgot.
He kept our economy in the hole with his policies. Remove the drilling moratoriums he reinstated and we would be seeing robust times like never before.

You know, every time I think about Barry, I am reminded of Marie Antoinette and her "Let them eat cake" analogy......That is The Emperor Obama in a nutshell

I'd like to see a chart showing historical participation, not just a four year period. I think it will show that Obama deserves the label of being the food stamp president.

Here's a different chart which might actually tell us what your chart actually says.

There was an increase from 1990 onwards.

LNS14000000_688776_1416431605230.gif

Here's unemployment rates. The rates hit a high in July 1992 at 7.8%. Food stamp participation started to increase in 1990 for 5 years. So when unemployment was going down, food stamp rates were GOING UP. There's a lag in the statistics for food stamps and unemployment and the economy.

Basically, you're showing statistics without understanding what you're posting. In theory food stamp participation should be going down in a couple of years, by my reckoning.

All your stats show is how badly Bush and his buddies messed up the economy with their wars and feeding the rich.

Actually I'd say it makes Bush the food stamp king.

Spending on food stamps has gone down as 10 million jobs produced, but since Pubs won't pass a living wage more people are eligible for SOME food stamps, hater dupe functional moron.
Cons view most on food stamps as minorities, cons or most of them hate minorities. Obama as I said has been remarkably successful, imagine if he didnt have to contend with a political movement hell bent on destroying him at any cost.

....imagine if he didnt have to contend with a political movement....

Pesky democracy. If only we could be like China for a while, eh comrade?

You think China is Communist huh? Ha!

Yup, everything is still Bush's fault.

Your chart is horseshit because it doesn't say on it what the variables are. Also, I see no chart showing the increase in food stamps starting in 1990. Btw, who was president during most of the 90s?

Reagan/Bush I's recession caused the spike in 1990-3, then Clinton's policies stopped the spike and brought it down. Then Booosh II brought them up again through the 2000's with a spike after the meltdown. Pub economics suq except for the 1%, hater dupe.
