Call it a birthday balloon give away. The fact that so much pressure would be put on the House Republicans to bring legislation to the floor and they still resist is, I believe, unprecedented. It is only a matter of time before they consent. The House took a 15 minute recess before starting resolution debate. I have not seen that before.

There are several districts which want immigration reform passed. These are Representatives which means a much smaller constituent group than, say, a Senator. A Representative in a district which wants immigration reform means he can't pull votes from another group.

Amnesty is a common sense solution, unless we're going to round them up into ghettos like the Nazis did to Jews.

But, let's make a fair trade and compromise in order to gain another common sense reform:

OK it's the commie senate bill minus the border security, ain't gonna happen.

Does this bill have good border security, and stiff penalties for business that hire illegals? No. Then its worthless and won't solve anything.
