While we wait, Justice Jackson read from a dissent that said, "....the ruling could devastate the functioning of the Federal Government" (This was the Corner Post case, not immunity)

DO NOT THREATEN ME WITH A GOOD TIME

SCOTUS has played this decision. Release a nobrainer decision on the last possible day they can

They will never give absolute immunity because they do not want future Democrats to have it

So they will give us another no decision and kick it back to the lower courts for further study

From the opinion:

This case poses a question of lasting significance: When may a former President be prosecuted for official acts taken during his Presidency? In answering that question, unlike the political branches and the public at large, the Court cannot afford to fixate exclusively, or even primarily, on present exigencies. Enduring separation of powers principles guide our decision in this case. The President enjoys no immunity for his unofficial acts, and not everything the President does is official. The President is not above the law. But under our system of separated powers, the President may not be prosecuted for exercising his core constitutional powers, and he is entitled to at least presumptive immunity from prosecution for his official acts. That immunity applies equally to all occupants of the Oval Office. Pp. 41–43.

Roberts, from the Opinion:

"the lower courts rendered their decisions on a highly expedited basis" and "did not analyze the conduct alleged in the indictment to decide which of it should be categorized as official and which unofficial" -- and it wasn't briefed before the Supreme Court.

So, you want the POTUS to be above the law and immune for any actions while POTUS?

Well, that is no surprise

What little hope we had the country could survive is now gone.

The highest court in the land just ruled the POTUS is above the law.

Biden should take advantage of this rule for the next few months and just go crazy.

SCOTUS once again shows its partisanship

They could have issued this spineless decision back in January.

So let’s kick it down the road some more so that Trump can just drop it if he gets elected

A President gets to pick his own prosecutor

No, it didn't. He is still accountable to Congress via the Impeachment process.

Do you want a President prosecuted in 500 different courts any time he takes official action someone doesn't like?

He isn't above the law, that's what the Impeachment process is for.

And with congress as partisan is it is, the POTUS is now above the law.

Trump better watch out, Biden might send Seal Team 6 and take him out.

Only for Official Acts.

WW
So, a President is now immune for Official Acts

Naming an Ambassador is an Official Act.
if a President accepts payment to name someone an Ambassador, it is immune from prosecution

Granting Pardons is an Official Act
Therefore selling Pardons is immune

I'm thrilled that you have discovered you can't unjustly prosecute your political enemies

Go crawl under a rock for 50 years while we take power
