Impeachable offense? Try Bribery

Trump's undeniable attempt at bribing the Ukrainian leader is creating cracks in Republican support for him. Time for Republicans to jump ship and some are looking for space in a lifeboat.
Undeniable is right-there IS nothing to deny.
Well, according to Trump all those folks testifying about his bribery are scum, so he has nothing to worry about.

Those within his own inner circle were aghast at the poorly disguised bribery demands
You don't know what bribery is
Why don't you define bribery for us? You seem to have your own definition and it appears different than the ones found in dictionaries.
No, if you think your line of reasoning is that important, come with the info. And for the record, the transcript did not even have quid pro quo never mind any kind of bribery.

The Constitution is generally vague on what constitutes an impeachable offense
One of the crimes it specifically identifies as impeachable is.....Bribery

The Constitution Says ‘Bribery’ Is Impeachable. What Does That Mean?

In fact, the Founders had a broader conception of bribery than what’s in the criminal code. Their understanding was derived from English law, under which bribery was understood as an officeholder’s abuse of the power of an office to obtain a private benefit rather than for the public interest. This definition not only encompasses Trump’s conduct—it practically defines it.

But there was no bribery that happened. Ukraine got the aid and their president said that at the time of the phone call, he was not aware funds were withheld. Trumps actual words could be interpreted in different ways, depending on what you want the outcome to be. knowing that Democrats have wanted to impeeach Trump from day 1, their motives and interpretations are always suspect.

Ukraine is not in a position to throw Trump under the bus

Trumps actual words were awkward to say the least. If not criminal, Trumo should be thrown out for incompetence.
It was far from a “perfect” phone call.

Oh, I get it. So now it wasn't "quid pro quo" President Trump committed, it was "bribery"?

I've never seen such a bunch who keep changing the narrative. Do you know how desperate you really appear?
Quid pro quo is not a crime

Bribery IS

So the Bidens receiving money from Ukraine is illegal. Gotcha.
Evidently not

it was legal employment. If not, Trumps Justice Department would persecute

Oh riiiight....a Ukrainian utility company wanted to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to a random American druggy that spoke no Ukrainian and knew nothing about the energy business. His last name being Biden was just a coinkidink.

Trump specifically demanded “favors” in return for discussing military aid

Rather than favors that are in the interests of the United States, he demanded information that could be used against a political rival for his personal gain

The very definition of bribery
That happens with every administration. LOL. You’re so uneducated.
Actually

Trumps demands for a personal favor in return for military aid is outright bribery and unprecedented

Actually, you're a fucking liar.

Show us, or slink off as the exposed liar that you are.

Do me a favor-does not say PERSONAL-it was on behalf of the US. Is not bribery-look up the definition, and unprecedented no-it goes on all the time with US presidents-FDR used it with Vichy France in WWII.

Nice try

If it was on behalf of the US, Why was Rudy G, Trumps PERSONAL Lawyer, in charge of negotiating ??
Irrelevant question-it was done before which answers the question. Besides, Trump asked on behalf of the US to root out corruption before giving them OUR hard earned money!

No it isn’t. Doubling down on your ignorance yet again. If you’re so confident he sucks then why not just vote him out with one of your excellent candidates in 2020?

Trump is not above the law
Whether it is an election year or not

Rudy’s involvement is highly relevant
He is not a representative of the US Government. He is a personal representative of the President

You can’t have it both ways
You can’t claim the interaction with Ukraine was on behalf of the US and then have Giuliani claim attorney/client privilege

Not to mention the $1.5 billion he got from China, thanks to his daddy pulling some strings while he was VP.

The left has been screaming for three years, some idiocy about Trump being on Putin's payroll. Yet they don't even see the real corruption right in front of their noses: Joe Biden

Trump was following the law. We have a mutual treaty with Ukraine, to investigate corruption.

I already did fucker - you're a lying cocksucker. That's a fact. There is no demand for "favors," simply the head of state requesting another head of state work with our justice department to investigate criminal acts.

You lie and you hide, you're a weasel pile of shit with no integrity.

well, you have a right to your opinion, I think otherwise, as do other people but when it comes down to an impeachment, it takes actual facts of a crime and not just the interpretations of a phone call. In a legal sense, Trumps motives..... if it was bribery, are not clear because there never was the whole quid pro quo, and to me, the fact that Schiff was trying so hard to over exaggerate what was said, shows me Democrats had a pre ordained agenda. All I see here is a power play and they have the resources of the govenment and its agencies and the news media to create any illusion they want.
