There is no equivalence. McCarthy was a drunk, and a tad indelicate, but he was right in the main.

There is no equivalence. McCarthy was a drunk, and a tad indelicate, but he was right in the main.

McCarthy built a culture of fear and terror for a brief period of US history.

He didn't run the committee, that tried alleged 'communists', though that too is a terrible part of US history.

He met his match when he accused elected representatives and the military of being communists.

Good riddance to him, as we didn't need communist witch hunts then, and don't need them now.

Hell, they don't even try to hide the fact that they're Communists anymore. And now the most cruel and destructive ideology mankind has ever come up with, has crept into every aspect of this country. Even to the office of the presidency. God bless him, McCarthy was right.
