Appears that the value of this dossier is not considered very high by the intelligence community. The author of this, Christopher Steele, is now in hiding. Apparently he's not willing to publicly stand behind his report or his sources. This story going public might be bad news for any future tactics, IF they are meant to undermine American leadership.

Intel chief calls Trump to disavow leaks

On Wednesday, Clapper released a rare statement addressing rising tensions between spy agency chiefs and Trump, who believes the intel community has become politicized and is working to undermine him. He also acknowledged contacting Trump directly to express "profound dismay" about the leaks to CNN and Buzzfeed — the latter of which published the unverified allegations in full.

"I emphasized that this document is not a U.S. Intelligence Community product and that I do not believe the leaks came from within the IC," Clapper said. "The IC has not made any judgment that the information in this document is reliable, and we did not rely upon it in any way for our conclusions."

Several media outlets reported that the salacious material, originally compiled by a former British intelligence officer turned political consultant, was relayed to Trump when he was briefed on the intelligence community's evidence of Russian hacking in the 2016 election.

LOL, that is because these Washington hangers on know they are all going to get hosed. If you think it is just the far leftists out of a job, you would be wrong. The useless, the helpless, and the hopeless are going to be thrown in the trash, and while that is usually leftists, it isn't always.

Washington bums are fighting for their free lunch, and to succeed they have to stop Trump. So far, while it has been nasty, it hasn't worked. As it gets closer and closer, they are more and more shrill because.............many of them are out of a job, and while political hacks get hired in Washington regularly, they do not fair so well in the private sector-)

Intelligence officials provided the ex-MI6 officer's reports to Trump as an appendix to the briefing about Russia's interference in our electoral process. They did this to make Trump aware the reports have been out there for a while and that it was probably just a matter of time before they became public.

The intelligence agencies are actively investigating the reports.

So, yeah, one could say Trump is under investigation by the FBI.
