UNITED STATES - FEBRUARY 28: House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., conducts a House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee hearing entitled
Sahil Kapur- July 2, 2012, 5:57 AM 9603

In the wake of the Supreme Court decision to uphold the ‘Obamacare’ mandate under Congress’s taxing power, Democrats are unifying behind a message to refute the GOP contention that they raised taxes on the middle class.

The Dems’ response: No, we didn’t. We simply punished freeloaders. Just as Mitt Romney did.

“It’s not a tax on the American people,” House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet The Press.” “It’s a penalty for free riders.”

all of it here and many more if you google
Dems Copy Romney: Health Care Mandate Is About Punishing Freeloaders | TPMDC

Can you believe the cruelty of these right wingers? I can. Republican policies helped send millions of jobs overseas creating the very poor they want to punish. Not just punish, but really fuck them up. Make them hurt. Make them suffer.
Then they say "It's not our job to help them". Then they say, "Democrats want to kill babies", which is a sick lie. But when they say "It's not our job to help them", they are proud of wanting those babies to starve. The same babies they accuse Democrats of wanting to kill. See how diseased their minds are? How sick. And for some reason, they have convinced themselves they are the "moral" ones with all the "family values". What about the "family of man"? Oh, I forgot, American helping American is "socialism".

“We supported both versions of the farm bill because we believe we must strengthen our social safety net for those who need it by reforming our broken food stamp system that, according to the Obama administration, has sent $2.7 billion in improper SNAP payments so far this year,” the letter said. “Reforming the food stamp program is not about being ’spiteful’ or denying people benefits; it’s about eliminating the waste that prevents Kentucky families who truly need help from getting it.”

Tragedy. They are cutting out the "improper" SNAP payments in favor of seeing that the truly needy get help. How dare they.

You might have a point-----might, might have a point if-----if that were in fact what the Teapublicans were up to but they're not. But if you are suggesting that food stamp heavy Republican districts should hire investigators to root out food stamp fraud rather than cutting benefits to the needy - good on you--create jobs for taxpayers-cut fraud and waste-circulate money through the economy -- OK, I'm in but-----but congress controls the purse strings and the Teapublicans just aren't going to go for creating any government jobs during the Obama administration. Instead-----instead the Teapublicans will cut benefits for needy people like Stella Marshall...

"Stella Marshall is among the food stamp users in Owsley County. Around the fifth of each month, she heads to a discount grocery store to buy staples: macaroni, beans, corn meal and peanut butter. At the checkout, she swipes the Electronic Benefit Transfer card that carries the $352 in food stamps she receives each month.

“Of all the things they could cut in America, it shouldn’t be the food stamp program,” said Marshall, 58, who received Social Security disability payments and is raising three grandchildren, ages 7 through 17, in Booneville, Kentucky, on a monthly income of $1,255, all from the state or federal government."

.

Teapublicans, right there no one should take you SERIOUSLY..
and now you are going to explain to us what they are doing...pfeesh
nothing is ever going to please you so called "bleeding hearts" who crow they care more for the POOR, as LONG as it's other people money who is PAYING FOR IT...and using the sob stories of a few is another trait of you dishonest bleeding hearts...it's a sickness

In Illinois, Democrat congressional districts average 10% of the population on food stamps, Republican ones average 6% of the population on food stamps.

You can do this on every district around the country.

The liberal media always has to distort the facts, because they always make the Democrats look like sh--.

Obama won people making under 30K by 28%, and lost people making over 50K by 7% and 100K by 10%......so we know who poor people on handouts are. And when you go and look up the actual data, it always proves the DemoRats are the leeches.

Lying Bloomberg dirtbag scum.

.
As the U.S. economy recovers from the worst recession since the Great Depression, the explosive growth of food stamps remains a lingering legacy. And now the program comes with an irony, as the Republicans seeking to cut it also represent vast numbers of recipients.

Among the 254 counties where food stamp recipients doubled between 2007 and 2011, Republican Mitt Romney won 213 of them in last year’s presidential election, according to U.S. Department of Agriculture data compiled by Bloomberg.

.

The irony is delicious :eusa_drool: Granted, they're all pretty much low-info voters.

If that was true, why does FOX crush in the ratings, while MSNBC and CNN flounder? Republicans absolutely dominate the radio waves as well. The truth is, republicans are the most informed voters, a fact which is supported by the enormous radio/tv ratings.

Yea, let's take a look at that. One one side, we have the propaganda arm of the 90% white GOP, Fox news.

On the other side we have:
BET
Hispanic Networks
Logo
Muslim Networks
Liberal
O
and so on.

Which SIDE has more viewers. Hint - the SIDE that won the last election.

Did something so fucking simple really have to be explained? Really?

Funny, that's exactly the point and you were making fun of it.

The Democratic Party is a coalition party and all those groups voted for Obama and won. They may not BE on the same side, but they voted for the same side. The very definition of "coalition".

The Republican Party is monolithic, 90% white and they voted for a "Pioneer of Outsourcing and moving jobs to China" and lost. Thank God.

Actually, they are the most MISinformed voters due entirely to their media choices. Being filled with misinformation does not make you "informed" except in Bazaaro Land!!!

You're assuming that the food stamp recipients are Romney voters. Bad assumption.

Furthermore, how is that anymore ironic than Dims forcing their constituents to buy insurance or imposing tax increases on them?

Yes, BSMSNBC, CNN, Young Turks, CBS, NBC, NYT, etc. gives you lefties the real news, huh?
What is "Bazaaro Land" is that they won't report what the administration doesn't want you to hear. go figure.......

How many times has Fox News shamed them and forced them to report the news that paints the administration in bad light?

The U.K. just did the same thing not to long ago.
Guess what happened?
Their unemployment number went down.
When they didn't get the government goodies they went out and got jobs.
