Yes, preserving the natural environment is kind of important. The thing is, 80% of CA's water usage is used for things like rice and almond growing, water heavy agriculture for things that should be grown elsewhere.

The govt has been forgiving student loans for years. That is a red herring.

The problem is not student loans, the problem is that tuition has increased disproportionately over the last 20 years or so. Why? because once the colleges figured out that the govt would loan whatever the tuition was then they upped the tuition. Once again a liberal policy failed because it was not thought through completely to its logical conclusion.

But I ask you, why should a bank make an interest free loan that it may never collect?

There should be none of this foolishness of "college loans" that the banks make profits administering. Instead, we should just give out scholarships to worthy students.

Actually, no, it's more paying it forward. There will be a point where Joe Citizen can't work anymore and will need others to take care of him. So he needs college educated people not only paying to support him, but also to make sure they have the skills to take care of him.

Thus, paying for college is a wise investment.

Again, the rich are not doing the work, they are just enjoying the benefits. If the wealth were evenly distributed, we wouldn't need as much government.
