Every virus has the potential to mutate and this one is certainly capable of mutating into an airborne transmission virus. The probabilities depend on the number of people infected and since that number is rising rapidly in Africa the possibility is present that this nightmare scenario could erupt upon on the world. The health agencies are playing the "keep the public calm" game. They do not want to start a panic and right now there is nothing to panic about. But if things continue to go as they are in Africa now that may change.
