It's not just Obama's job. Congress should be actively legislating. But congress doesn't want to touch it. They prefer either useless bitching, or pontificating about fighting terrorism.

Just more talk.
He wasn't addressing the people who think for themselves. He was addressing the crowd that actually believes anything he says. He sounded assuring and that is all some need to move on.
He isn't going to stop the phone monitoring, claiming it's to protect Americans. Spying on us in hopes of discovering some terrorist plot is the new plan. Never mind that the only thing they'll end up with is a long list of political enemies. Meanwhile, we've spent billions arming the Muslim Brotherhood and the al Qaeda Syrian rebels. Terrorists are stronger than ever and the average person can't have a private conversation.
Sleep well tonight.

Is Obama going to rein in the NSA finally?
Whats really sad is DESPITE all the spying both on us and foreigners the program has seemingly not stopped any terrorist attack. I mean there were TONS of red flags about the Boston boys even WITHOUT spying and we still couldn't stop it. So all we're left with is the hope that losing privacy will somehow help?
Do you think ex-cons should have their phones wiretapped?
I mean, they are more likely to be involved in illegal activities than a randomly selected Muslim.
Isn't being more likely equal to probable cause?
Sure. Thats why Grampa should have his phone wiretapped before a random Muslim should. Right?
