Is there anything to actually be proud of the USA for?

Thanks to those who didn't make asshole-ish assumptions about my political beliefs and motivations and just answered the damn question. Much appreciation.

When you throw such a charged question out there, you should probably expect some snarky replies.

Michelle "The Brute" Obama let us know she had never been proud of this country. Never. Till we elected Big Eared Barry as president.

That stuck in the craw of everyone that loves this country.
Or maybe people should re-learn common decency and not treat a geunine question like I just spit on their mother's grave.
So why are you going into attack mode to derail your own thread?

Correll It's not that I don't want it , as a matter of fact I'd relish it but I believe it's impossible to achieve with people like McConnell holding power

That's just plain stupid. The Democrats don't need bipartisanship; they own the entire government. Bipartisanship would be Democrats crossing the aisle to help pass great ideas from the Republicans.

You are the world's laughing stock and horror.

The world's laughing stock and horror? And yet look at the southern border where all those people are running from all that upward mobility to get here for our racism. Look at all the Chinese, Indians, Russians, Australians, British and other European and Asians who are begging to come here in droves because they're so tired of the upward mobility in their own countries and want to come here where they can be prejudiced against and put in their own places and kept there.

Many Americans have been illegally forbidden from practicing their religion ...
Example? Proof?

Have you been living under a rock for the last 16 months?

I could post similar restrictions all day long but you only asked for a single example.

And was this stupid ban permanent, or a temporary response to the virus?

Landing on the moon was the last great thing we did.
No it was electing Trump, the greatest liberal troll in history
Actually, the "liberal troll" honors would go to the Bush dynasty, Sr. and Jr.; whom were less Conservative than Trump when it came to policies and actions performed. Both Bush's would rate as RINO and CINO before Trump would.

For that matter, even JFK, we he as alive and young today as 60+ years ago would, fail to gain the backing of Democrats/DNC as being too conservative by their current standards and ideology. True, some hard core Republicans might see JFK as also a RINO/CINO, but still, JFK had too much common sense and conservative perspective and values to be a Dumbocrat in today's political environment.

As much as I admired JFK, he did one great dis-service to our nation and body politic. He established the concept of personal charisma as a valid POTUS qualification. Nothing wrong with being "likable", but it is way down there on the skill-sets of effective CEO/CFO which is the primary duty of a POTUS. We saw this backfire in the case of forked-tongue, snake-oil salesperson and general seditionist BHO, whose Alinsky like agenda to "fundamentally change 'Amerika' " still has deep repercussions in need of correctives.

Barry Obama was an even greater "liberal troll" than any seen in recent decades. Biden is just another sock-puppet copy of the same.

Genuine question. Seems the US has done a lot of bad stuff, from meddling unasked in foreign affairs to its treatment of indigenous peoples. (Even the very, very conservative curriculum that was used for history class when I was in school acknowledged that we treated native Americans horribly.)
I want to genuinely know, is there anything I can be proud of my country for this independence day? (I'm at least happy that we're not socialist or communist.)
I'll start off with a copy-paste of a reply to another socialist parasite in another thread here. Not as complete an answer as I'd want to present, but a bit limited on time today. So maybe further details later. This makes a start point of sorts, for those willing to read and digest ...

As for this false canard: "Your taxes go to buy bombs not help people." ~ Your ignorance is on full display here!

1) If you can do numbers, finances, and other figures; as you'll see here, "Defense/Wars" is a rather small part of our National GDP and especially our Federal guv'mint spending.

https://www.usdebtclock.org/

Also, that 'defense spending' amount reflects that our military personnel have some of the highest and best pay and benefits of any nation on this planet. Also a lot of the "bomb$" has been for Research and Development (R&D), not just in weapons but in many other areas of general benefit to not only the USA, but also the World, as we'll see lower down.

2) A reminder that the "Your taxes go to buy bombs not help people." is how our nation managed to end TWO WORLD WARS started by you Europeans (and UK), and also do the rebuild -see Marshall Plan, etc. - afterward to fix the world as a result of those "foreign caused wars". This for over a century now ~ you're welcome.

3) Those "bomb$" have also been used to try and fix many a global mess and resulting wars caused by your European (and UK) colonial 'adventures' around the globe during the past few centuries.

4) In the wake of WWII, the bulk of NATO in terms of military forces and cost$ has been borne by the USA, and still is. ~ You're welcome.

5) That R&D mentioned earlier resulted in the integrated circuit (IC) and other electronic minaturization; partly for military incentive, but also for our space exploration programs (see Apollo, etc.); with huge spinoff to private and commercial applications. Not to mention a few other technologies that are part of everyday modern living/lifestyles.

6) That R&D was also the seeding, via our military ("bomb$") for the start of what became the internet. Another gift of sorts from USA taxpayers and our "huge" military ( 'bombs, not help people') expenditures you denigrate.

The origins of the Internet date back to the development of packet switching and research commissioned by the United States Department of Defense in the 1960s to enable time-sharing of computers.[1] The primary precursor network, the ARPANET, initially served as a backbone for interconnection of regional academic and military networks in the 1970s. The funding of the National Science Foundation Network as a new backbone in the 1980s, as well as private funding for other commercial extensions, led to worldwide participation in the development of new networking technologies, and the merger of many networks.[2] The linking of commercial networks and enterprises by the early 1990s marked the beginning of the transition to the modern Internet,[3] and generated a sustained exponential growth as generations of institutional, personal, and mobile computers were connected to the network. Although the Internet was widely used by academia in the 1980s, commercialization incorporated its services and technologies into virtually every aspect of modern life.

7) Also, that "Your taxes go to buy bombs not help people." provided the world with Global Positioning System/GPS, for which we haven't charged anyone nor been paid for (and barely thanked), so there's another "free"/"no charge" the World gets from the USA and it's taxpayers.
...
The Global Positioning System (GPS), originally Navstar GPS,[1] is a satellite-based radionavigation system owned by the United States government and operated by the United States Space Force.[2] It is one of the global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) that provides geolocation and time information to a GPS receiver anywhere on or near the Earth where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more GPS satellites.[3] Obstacles such as mountains and buildings block the relatively weak GPS signals.

The GPS does not require the user to transmit any data, and it operates independently of any telephonic or internet reception, though these technologies can enhance the usefulness of the GPS positioning information. The GPS provides critical positioning capabilities to military, civil, and commercial users around the world. The United States government created the system, maintains it, and makes it freely accessible to anyone with a GPS receiver.[4]

The GPS project was started by the U.S. Department of Defense in 1973, with the first prototype spacecraft launched in 1978 and the full constellation of 24 satellites operational in 1993. ...

8) For most people on this planet, if they find themselves in a dangerous and distressed situation and need aid/saving from those threatening them, or harming them, there is one national flag they know means help and relief is on their way. That is the Stars and Stripes ~ the cavalry is coming to the rescue.

And that is just the top of the list.

So you can take your 'bloody' "Your (USA)taxes go to buy bombs not help people." and stick it where the Sun don't shine!

The USA has done far more for the World and to help the people of the World than any and all of them in 'the World' have ever done for us/US.

You're Welcome!

Why do leftists always ignore the fact that hundreds and thousands from around the socialist paradises are desperate to get here and not the other way around?

If this country was so racist and imperialistic and tyrannical why aren't the black people desperately trying to leave and why are there over 40.000 negro millioniares in such a racist country?

Never mind. The left are too pathetic to answer those. They are rhetorical anyway.

What's because they think with their feelings and dependencies for 1K Alex.

I haven't time now to go through the previous @375 posts of this thread, so if what I present has already been so, consider this just a 'refresh' of sorts.

to paraphrase in my own words, 'slavery' has been common to the human condition ever since our ancestors began to form cultures~civilizations, and actually continues to present times in some parts of the world;

This many may find debatable, but it could be one perspective, even though the source may have a bit of bias on definitions and applications;

Note that for the most part, these tend to be Islamic dominated cultures/nations as Islam/Koran remains "not reformed" and original text allows for slavery as a basic foundation tenant of Islam.

Slavery was so pervasive in classical era of Western Civilization that many historical scholars claim it was a leading factor in the decline and fall of the Roman Empire, the importation of slaves undermining the economic subsistence of the "free Roam citizens" and their ability to support themselves.

Nearly all cultures/civilizations had some form of "slavery"~'involuntary servitude~ownership' and such remains an embedded custom of human activity still hard to remove.

In my next post I'll present some graphics to show the many players in "slavery" in the New World/Western Hemisphere during the ages of exploration and colonization.

We're not living in poverty or starving and aren't constantly affected with diseases. (Most of us anyways)
To hear the left tell it, they are always sick and need medical care, those fat ducks need to start eating healthy and work out
I gained 7 lbs in the past 2 weeks since I quit smoking. Guess what I had for lunch just now? A cig. Guess how I smoked it? I walked down 6 stories to get outside. Guess how I got back in my apt? I took the stairs again instead of the elevator. Guess what I am having for dinner? Another cig. Same way.

I'm not a socialist, I actually said in my OP that I'm against socialism. Many on this site need to learn to address what's actually said and not what you assume to be the case.
I'm a centrist who has a mixture of left and right beliefs. Before that, for many years I was a right wing libertarian.
