I was asking because I wanted to be reminded of the good, not because I believe there is no good. You should move. You CLEARLY don't deserve to live in this great nation.Genuine question. Seems the US has done a lot of bad stuff, from meddling unasked in foreign affairs to its treatment of indigenous peoples. (Even the very, very conservative curriculum that was used for history class when I was in school acknowledged that we treated native Americans horribly.)
I want to genuinely know, is there anything I can be proud of my country for this independence day? (I'm at least happy that we're not socialist or communist.)

Anyone who actually has to ask that, doesn't deserve to be here. The US has used it's might for more good than any other world power. If you don't know that, your history class was a waste of time.
.
Correll Here's a few. There's more, but I put those people on ignore.Nope. You should just leave. That would make you proud.Genuine question. Works for me thanks. In the first one you admit that you can't think of any reason to be proud of this country.
That is not "slightly criticizing". That is you stating that you dismiss EVERYTHING good that this nation has done and/or is.
I agree. If that is how you feel, why would you want to be a part of people like US?
Surely you would be happier being part of a nice progressive nation like Canada or France.
I'm a centrist, my beliefs are a mixture of left and right. I was a moderate right winger until a couple years ago, now I'm just a full on centrist who leans very slightly left. My signature contains a brief summary of my political views if you want to know where I stand.
But again, telling people that they need to leave because they don't agree with you is anti-American, anti-free speech, and anti-freedom.
So, what is the first big thing that has come to your mind during this discussion, that you are proud of?
