That is a direct result of how fed up so many are with Obama.
Trump is no different or less bombastic now than he was thirty years ago when he created the USFL and enhanced his brand as a result. He's put his hat in the presidential ring twice before but gained no traction. What is so different this time? Obama's anti-American subversive nature and his utter incompetence and failure.

Given that he's the nominee, and that's a big "IF" given the GOPs apparent plan to try pitch him even if he wins, if he starts spending money on some PR people and speechwriters he has a chance.

they all go all out appealing to the fringes for the nomination in the primary and then tack to the middle for the GE and if he's smart enough to do that, maybe.

lots of wildcards in this also, WRT Hillary's FBI investigation, what happens with the economy between now and then, potential developments (positive or negative) with respect to terrorism, but my feeling is that, as it sits now, people have short memories and could be talked into plenty if he decides to moderate his positions A LOT, which he may or may not be willing to do.
