It Had To Happen. Obama Betrays The Kurds

The staunchly secular army that made war on the shiites in Iran and gassed the Kurds. For no other reason than they were shia and Kurd.

Somewhere Saddam Hussein is laughing over how he finally put one over on the stupid Americans.

How is that Obama's fault, podjo?

If you want to tout the Kurds as part of your "boots on the ground" force, Jake...don't you think it would behoove you to give them weapons so they can fight a winning ground campaign?

Would you join a "coalition" with someone who's heart is so obviously not in what they are doing? If it weren't for the Kurds, ISIS would already control the northern oil fields of Iraq yet Barry won't give them arms.
It's worse than that. After promising arms and not giving them, obama promised air support which he also did not give. Instead he ordered the bombing of vacant buildings and empty lots.

Remember all that top al quaeda leadership killed by drones? They are showing up hale and hearty. Just more obama lies.

Has Obama failed to arm the Kurds? Show me, guys, not just flap your lips.

when have you ever backed up a claim?

Neither Yurt nor bripat get a "just once more." That is over.

Show us how Obama betrayed the Kurds. Or are you both still trying to betray our country to the far right?

He betrayed the Armenian American community who he conned into voting for him. So betraying the Kurds is the next step for him really. But that said, the US could send a lot more weapons, but it is only a matter of time till Iraq is just as war ravaged as Syria. There is no easy answer as there is no guarantee of a victory even if you put boots on the ground.

Yurt is confused and hipeter does not understand.

We can't win a peace in Iraq, no matter how many troops we station there.

I understand perfectly. Obama tried to pressure the US government (and Congress) to cut American foreign aid to Armenia (a semi-democracy) and at the same time increase foreign aid to Azerbaijan (a brutal dictatorship). Before that he tried to pressure the Armenian government to sign 'protocols' with Turkey and accept a ludicrous 'historical commission' to enable Turkish genocide denial, and he refused to recognize the genocide he said he would. That is not what Armenian Americans voted for. Obama is a real nasty piece of work* (that had his morality chip turned off when he took office), not that most Americans (and Armenian Americans in particular) don't know that already: OBAMA SEEKS 38 CUT IN AID TO ARMENIA
[From 2009] WASHINGTON, DC – Despite a 9% increase in overall foreign aid spending, President Barack Obama today called for a 38% cut in aid to Armenia, a 20% increase in aid to Azerbaijan, and the abandonment of the longstanding Armenia-Azerbaijan military aid parity agreement in favor of Baku, reported the Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA).
On the other issue of the current war between ISIS and Iraq/Syria, it is still possible to defeat ISIS with a small force on the ground, though certainly this time Turkey doesn't want to put its head out for Kurds, and Iran has enough on its plate in Syria help out much in Iraq. Airstrikes won't win the war against ISIS, but at the very least they will make an ISIS advance more difficult.

*Just ask the people of Syria, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Egypt, Ukraine, Russia, and so on that have had to deal with his disastrous foreign policy.

After touting the Kurdish fighters as allies in the fight against isis, the obama regime quickly betrayed them too and left them bare asses hanging out fighting against mortars with light weapons.

Islamic State is “still shelling Kobani with mortars as people there are struggling to defend themselves,” Ibrahim Ayhan, a pro-Kurdish lawmaker in the Turkish parliament, said by phone from the country’s border town of Suruc today. Airstrikes last night by U.S.-led coalition warplanes didn’t “change the tide of the war,” he said.

Of course the airstrikes didn't change the tide of war. Bombing empty buildings and vacant lots never changed the tide of any war.

All the usual detractors are completely full of shit. Had Obama sent troops into Syria a year ago these same fucking hypocrites would be screaming about that instead.

A lot of repub-voting, world police-types coming out of the woodwork

Well, gee whiz...Dottie! If it's cost savings you were looking for I think you'd find that leaving 20,000 US troops behind to stabilize Iraq would be far cheaper than mounting an air assault with lots of million dollar smart weapons.
broken marriages, suicides and PTSD sufferers due to endless deployments and shortened dwell times (during Cheney/Bush II's Admin) are "cheaper"? In whose world is that a reality?

Do you really not see what's coming, Dottie? We ARE going to have to commit ground troops to Iraq or watch as ISIS takes over an entire country. Every single military mind out there is telling Barry that he can't defeat ISIS with just airstrikes and he's getting squat for boots on the ground support from Arab nations.

Obama could have done the intelligent thing and left a stabilizing force in Iraq but he did what he's done all along with foreign policy...made decisions based on how he'd LIKE the world to be like rather than how the world really IS!

The heck with sending troops into Syria...but the minute ISIS went across the border into Iraq then we should have been blowing them and their little pick-up trucks into oblivion.
