Mike Flynn, Trump's NSA for a month, spoke illegally to the Russian ambassador and is facing jail time.
Trump's attorney general, Jeff Sessions, had contacts with the Russian ambassador during the election campaign, once in his office, and he had to recuse himself from the Russian investigation that was taking place from his office.
Trump's son, Trump's son-in-law, and Trump's campaign manager met with four Russian operatives at Trump's home, Trump Tower, in June 2016, for information on Trump's opponent, Hillary Clinton.
More recently, Trump tried that again. He attempted to extort the Ukrainian president to get him to dig up dirt on another political opponent, Joe Biden. This caused an impeachment inquiry.
The mission of any righteous Russian puppet would be to create chaos at the highest level of the federal government. Recently, the Trump White House sent a letter to the House of Representatives telling the leadership they must have a full House vote on the impeachment of the President.

From what I've read about the Russian involvement, is that it was no different than any other election cycle.
Russia messes with elections all the time. They have since the Soviet Union days. It would be more shocking to find out Russia didn't attempt some low level interference.
So if every election that Russia has messed with, means that someone is a Russian puppet, then who was the puppet in 2012 / 2008 / 2004 / 2000 / 1996 / 1992 and on?

So back to the original question. You claim that Putin wanted Trump to be president. But there is no evidence of that. Only that Russia wanted to damage the election process. As far as I can tell, there was damage done to both candidates by Russia. If anything Russia wanted to simply damage the credibility of the election process. Not have a specific candidate installed.

It's time? Why is it time? A two year investigation costing millions proved that there was no collusion except for the fact that democrats relied on a foreign agent who may have been a Russian puppet.. Americans have to hitch a ride on Russian made rockets to get to the "international" Space Station and the U.S. shares data with the Russians. The only reason the crazy left brings it up is that the democrats have no viable candidate in 2020 so they rely on sometimes foreign based propaganda and attempt Banana Republic politics.

Manafort was under investigation by our own law enforcement for US crimes. Ukraine was only peripherally involved due to Manafort's activities in Ukraine.

Mike Flynn, Trump's NSA for a month, spoke illegally to the Russian ambassador and is facing jail time.
Trump's attorney general, Jeff Sessions, had contacts with the Russian ambassador during the election campaign, once in his office, and he had to recuse himself from the Russian investigation that was taking place from his office.
Trump's son, Trump's son-in-law, and Trump's campaign manager met with four Russian operatives at Trump's home, Trump Tower, in June 2016, for information on Trump's opponent, Hillary Clinton.
More recently, Trump tried that again. He attempted to extort the Ukrainian president to get him to dig up dirt on another political opponent, Joe Biden. This caused an impeachment inquiry.

Not a single fact to refute this very strong and factual recitation of some of the times Trump’s foreign policy decisions align with Vladimir Putin's wish list. A very on point post - little embellishment. Just a blanket denial of the facts as stated.
But he missed a few critical items from earlier in Trump’s presidency.
There’s his speech to leadership of NATO member nations in Brussels where he falsely stated that the USA was owed billions by its allies, while allied leaders laughed at his idiocy. Those leaders have read the NATO Pact, and its ancillary agreements and what’s in them. Trump has not.
The fracture of NATO is now complete. NATO leaders have utterly written off Trump as an unreliable ally as this latest horror in Syria shows. The Crown Jewel in Putin’s gifts from Trump.
There is also Trump’s failure and refusal to implement any of the sanctions imposed under the Magnitsky Act, or the sanctions Trump announced after the poisoning of Skirpov and his daughter in Great Britain.
Trump is working diligently to chip away at the sanctions imposed by Obama before he left office and confirmed by Congress and the Senate in a veto-proof vote. Trump is BB legally barred from lifting Sanctions against Russia without Congressional approval.
