Just Breaking: George Michael dead at 53

I mean, it's not impossible to just drop dead suddenly from a heart issue. Usually though, people who die of heart failure have some kind of history of heart disease. People who see a physician regularly usually have some signs that there is something wrong with their heart, like shortness of breath, pain, etc. You can have a clogged artery or something that can kill you suddenly, I suppose.

Agreed, this is young, and unlikely to be a "Bolt from the Blue".

I'm just wondering if there was a history of heart disease in him or his immediate family members. Too bad the news is so inadequate. Lol.

The PBS News Hour did a segment on G.Michael yesterday. You can probably google it on their website.

I had no idea he was such a raving British queen.

Said he liked to have gay sex in public.

Yuk!

I find myself wondering if this is a result of his history of drug abuse.

Sadly, it seems as if that is the underlying cause of most celebrity deaths.

Well? Did he have a history of heart disease? I don't think it's just "normal" for someone 53 years old to just die of heart failure unless there is some underlying issue (s).
i had my heart attack at 52

Were you diagnosed as having heart disease?
of course after the fact --LOL

Sorry to hear about that. Do you have a stent or take any meds?

two surgeries

four inches of stints

several openings of partial blockages

at first lots of meds

now i am down to very little

i walk four to six miles a day sometimes more

In the 1990s, Michael engaged in a relationship with a dress designer named Anselmo Feleppa, who had HIV. A couple of years after meeting, Feleppa passed away from an AIDS-related disease. Michael’s single “Jesus to a Child” is a tribute to the designer. George Michael Death: Did the Superstar Have HIV/AIDS?

The statistics of gay men using protection 100% of the time are very grim. His manager is saying he died peacefully "of heart failure". Well when all the organs shut down, the heart follows. I've never known anyone to die peacefully of a heart attack so?

George Michael Death: Did the Superstar Have HIV/AIDS?
I have known dozens of people who died peacefully of a heart attack. Especially when they die in their sleep like George Michael just did. Sometimes the heart just slows and slows then stops.
Alcohol can do this.

Dope can do it too.

Certain chronic conditions like sleep apnea can as well.

I doubt this was an AIDS related death. Those are usually caused by secondary infections and pneumonia or blood sepsis.

Whether he had AIDS or not will probably never be known.

Once again, to call attention to what I believe is his best song and one of the best songs ever written and sung:

Not for like 6 months here! Nice beaches here but a very short beach season, unfortunately.

Not true.
PJ, you seriously think it is normal for people to die of heart failure at the age of 53?

That is not normal in any text I have read on the subject, and I have been interested in the topic ever since my own heart attack in Jan 2007 at the age of 49.

Everyone was telling me that it was unusual then. Have things gotten so bad so quickly in the last decade?

Damned Millennials, messing it all up just when I was thinking myself special.

lol
