That said, he is not more responsible than the kid himself or the kid's parents, especially the mother he lived with. I point that out without knowledge of how the father interacts in the kid's life. Answer: Wrong. When attacked by someone who is chasing you that is fear for your life. Deadly force is reasonable.

4. He illegally transported the gun across state lines.

He had every right to be there, and the only thing that might have been against his being armed, was his age (17), when the minimum age for legal open carry in Wisconsin is 18.

So if the Democrat city fathers wanted to press charges against the kid, they could have done it for illegal possession of a firearm, based on age, (a misdemeanor), but even that would be pretty overbearing, with the kid a mere few weeks from being 18.
