Key inflation cause: Republican policy

It wasn’t Republican policy to pay people to sit at home in their ass, Simp.

Once again, what Republican policy caused worldwide supply shortages?
None. Republicans did not cause the world wide supply shortage. Covid did.

If you look at the U.S. economy has prospered under democrats but not republicans. GDP growth higher, unemployment lower is the trend even pre pandemic.

Neat story you like to repeat. History doesn't agree, but then you're a mouth with nothing behind it:

It is certainly true since 1989.

In the case of majors, perhaps....but for drillers who had been selling at, or below breakeven, it was just an opportunity to discharge high levels of debt.

Drillers don't set the prices. Hedge funds that never actually take control of a drop of oil, do.

Drillers don't set the prices. Hedge funds that never actually take control of a drop of oil, do.
As commodity producers, they are price takers.

But they also use the futures markets to hedge production.

Pure speculation in oil futures is normally not a big game....though I too believe it played a role in 2008.

The returns tend to come, not from returns on oil price volatility, but from storage and interest.

Look at avg annual gdp growth and net additions to private industry payrolls.

Hollaback...

Alrighty then, though really, it's a bit a trickery on your part to ask since 1989, because before that doesn't serve you.

Since 89:
Democrat POTUS average 2.45% GDP growth and Republicans 1.31%.

Course Clinton had the benefit of lasting Reaganomics, a great new economy with Dot.com, and Chinese trade was greatly enhanced.

Xiden and Obama had benefit of prior recessions, and what's down must come up, right? All while Republican POTUS saw 9-11, dot.com crash, the housing crash, and let's not forget COVID of which the Democrats shut everything down.

But wait, let's look at a Republican majority in both houses to a Democrat majority. I anticipate your surprise.

Since 89:
Democrat majority average 1.42% GDP growth and Republicans 3.03% .

And without looking a Republican held Congress will blow Democrats out of the water. Especially since the 70s, no comparison.
