Let's see the EXACT quote that says kids don't belong to their parents.....ok?
So part of it is we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents, or kids belong to their families, and recognize that kids belong to whole communities.

We have never invested as much in public education as we should have because weve always had kind of a private notion of children: your kid is yours and totally your responsibility. We havent had a very collective notion of these are our children. So part of it is we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents or kids belong to their families, and recognize that kids belong to whole communities,
And...what is to disagree with?

Fascism isn't collective, it uses the population for its own ends. The people exist for the state, as does the material goods. That's centralization, not collectivism.
Interesting how you find all kinds of things that were never said to distract from the foot sticking out of your mouth.Wow, you really ARE stupid, aren't you? Here's the whole quote:

Hey, you are the one who thinks children are "owned". Of course that IS the old tradition. How dare the government condemn child labor if the parent owners want to work their kids. How dare the government require education if the parent owners don't want their kids to become literate. How dare the government require decent treatment of children if their parent owners want to abuse them. How dare the government expect children to obey the law if their parent owners want to let them run amok.

Good for her for not apologizing. Once upon a time, Republicans would have agreed that children are the future of America and as such should be afforded every opportunity to succeed.Typical right wing reactionary knee jerk full on FAUXRAGEOUS I tells ya......
Oh and this:
Tuesday, Harris-Perry stood behind her words.
One thing is for sure: I have no intention of apologizing for saying that our children, all of our children, are part of more than our households, they are part of our communities and deserve to have the care, attention, resources, respect and opportunities of those communities, Harris-Perry wrote.
The TV host rejected the notion that her words were part of some conspiracy effort to turn children over to the government bureaucrats.
I believe wholeheartedly, and without apology, that we have a collective responsibility to the children of our communities even if we did not conceive and bear them, she said. Of course, parents can and should raise their children with their own values.
MSNBC contributor doubles-down on idea that collective, not parents, is responsible for kids « Watchdog.org
She said your children don't belong to parents, they belong to the collective and to the government.
Collectivism is the philosophy used under fascist Germany.

How sad that Republicans hate America.
Fascism isn't collective, it uses the population for its own ends. The people exist for the state, as does the material goods. That's centralization, not collectivism.
"Totalitarianism is collectivism. Collectivism means the subjugation of the individual to a group whether to a race, class or state does not matter. Collectivism holds that man must be chained to collective action and collective thought for the sake of what is called ``the common good.´´
Throughout history, no tyrant ever rose to power except on the claim of representing ``the common good.´´ Napoleon ``served the common good´´ of France. Hitler is ``serving the common good´´ of Germany. Horrors which no man would dare consider for his own selfish sake are perpetrated with a clear conscience by ``altruists´´ who justify themselves by-the common good."
