I had put this off for awhile, we finally watched it last night.
As for the movie, it is good. Will Smith is a good actor, one of the best actors alive - so no surprise there.
The movie surrounds Venus more than Serena by far, mostly because that is who Richard paid attention to the most.
He did train Serena along with Venus, but once Venus (older) began earning money - he put all of his attention on her.
The other three sisters were basically ghost to him.
The man is a world class asshole and hypocrite. He had one goal - to turn two of his children into pro athletes, and doggedly stayed with it for over 10 years. The sisters lives entirely consumed by his directions. It was eat/sleep/homework/practice and nothing more. Sun up - Sun down 7 days a week.
The movie is apparently a "kids glove" version of the family story.
Not told - Richard actually has between 11 - 20 kids. Depends on who you ask. In an interview one of the sisters said he was a "serial cheater" and a "sperm donator" to unknown number of kids.
In the end - it is a good movie. It was pretty clear they were glossing over a lot, and made Richard out to be like a star father, he was not. The movie is accurate to what the family wanted you to see. In reality, it's not even half the story.
