You have been misinformed because the ACP is a special program that is now being reformulated so that tomorrow the government can send a bill for a vote for new funding. The ACP is a program that works with many companies. Comcast, Spectrum, Starlink, etc are companies...ok

U.S. Senate eyes funding the Affordable Connectivity Program through broader telecommunications package

Key Takeaways

The ACP is under a short timeline to receive additional funding, and after May 31, all 23 million enrolled households will cease to receive any benefit from the program
The Senate proposals could lead to expedited passage of funding to save the program
NACo supports continued good-faith negotiations to save the Affordable Connectivity Program
On May 9, U.S. Sen. Ben Ray Lujan (D-N.M.) introduced S. 4317, a bill which would provide $6 billion in funding for the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) and enact programmatic changes to the ACP to improve fiscal sustainability of the program and better target communities in need. The legislation now has 16 bipartisan senators who are embracing the deal as a good-faith negotiation effort.
