Fear is a choice. It is not incumbent upon others to assuage the fears of the fearful.

Oh you don't say, I remember the fear of a nuclear threat, we use to hide under desks, now the kids have a fear some gunman will attack them at their schools and kill them. Same thing, I don't think so, one is a drill , and one is a reality.

MAss shootings account for less than 1% of all murders why not concentrate on something that will actually make a difference in the murder rate

It is practically the list of things that people, like you, claim we must do to limit or at least reduce if not eliminate gun crime. Yet, it did not do any of what we are promised will happen if we sacrifice our rights.

It has meant there has been no mass shooting in NZ for a couple of decades in a country with about a quarter of the rate of firearms ownership as the US and a firearms homicide rate of around one twentieth of that of the US. Even then it took a fucking Aussie to do it.

With a little tightening up of the category of firearms able to be held on a standard licence those gun laws will probably reduce the rate of mass shootings for a few more decades. We can learn from the first kick of a mule here. Not like there, where hundreds of kicks from a mule make no difference.
