Nobody was fooled in either case. If stock holders lost out...then it's time to elect new officers. The loan officer and his institution took what was easy money for both. Other institutions turned it down because there is a process. I wouldn't loan money to Trump but then that's just me. The jumbo commercial loans industry is a very competitive game. It has high stakes and high risks. It also has high returns when it works. In this case it worked.

I admit that hundreds of applications a day for jumbo real estate loans get rejected. I admit that some get accepted. I admit that lending institutions grab what they think will yield a return.

He didn't lie about it on some business financial asset form....he went to a realtor, they gave him a price range they thought his house was worth and could sell for, Stewart says Go For It, they find a buyer, and with some negotiation, they sell his house.

If Stewart's city tax assessor or city is taxing their homes for much less than they are worth on the market, why would this be a crime for Stewart?

The lenders should not be Scott free on this imho...they are complicit too. The fine, to me, seemed like it was too high for the offense, because by luck, it wasn't worse, like if he had went in to bankruptcy....but I am no expert on this...

And the NY civil law cases and suits are truly not my concern.... They are side shows to me...fun to talk about but truly not my concern.

The only cases that all of us Americans need to see go to trial and get a guilty or NOT GUILTY from the jury are the Georgia case, and the classified documents case and the election subversion -1/6 case....and through trump lawyering, they have all been stalled. But those 3 cases involve the presidency and we voters need to see these cases go to trial before we vote.

New York Attorney General Letitia James is facing mounting pressure to prosecute comedian Jon Stewart after it was revealed that he overvalued his Manhattan home — the same so-called “offense” for which James is prosecuting former President Donald Trump.
Rep. Mike Collins (R-GA), radio host Andrew Wilkow, and Trump attorney Alina Habba are among those calling for “Tish” to show that no one is above the law.
Jon Stewart was recently found to have overvalued his Tribeca duplex by more than 800 percent when he was selling it back in 2014. The embarrassing revelation comes after the comedian used Monday’s episode of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show to claim Trump was “lying” when valuing his own properties.
Now Stewart has egg on his face, with pressure building on James to ensure the equal application of the law.



Commentary:
The DJT loans in questions were paid back early and never defaulted on. So the loan for the property becomes irrelevant when you are talking about valuation at time of sale…. If you are actually comparing apples to apples, John Stewart did do the exact same thing as President Donald Trump to avoid paying higher taxes. So why shouldn’t Stewart be prosecuted in the same fashion. If the New York Judical system and A.G James were honest they would probably know that this is clearly a political prosecution, but they are not, so they will probably get angry and need a coloring book and a good cry before considering their next weak argument.

The lenders are complicit in what? Nabbing a deal with a whale, and making $100 million off it? They are complicit in making money for their stockholders, I guess.

They decided to lend Trump money with a discounted interest rate because they wanted to make the “sale.” Good business decision.

Nobody tells the county tax assessor how much your home is worth.....and that's not what they charged Trump with doing.
Stop making up excuses. Jon Stewart told the Real Estate agent what he wanted to sell the property for and the agent told him that he couldn't get that. But Jon still overvalued his condo thinking that some schmuck would want to pay 18 times the actual value of it just because Jon Stewart once lived there. Nobody in their right mind would do that.
I think the problem here is you don't know what you're talking about and you're just swallowing the lies from a leftist judge that Biden bribed $10,000,000.00 to find Trump guilty of a non-crime.
Trump knew how much Mar-a-Lago was worth because of all of the work he did on the property since he purchased it. Smaller properties next door went for over $100 million, but that activist judge said that Trump's property was only worth a fraction of it's actual value.

The fact is the judge was doing what Biden paid him to do. You're going to have to come to the realization that Biden is a criminal, and a sick demented asshole who will commit any crime to stay in office. The only thing protecting him is the fact that he put a corrupt Attorney General in charge of the DOJ to protect him from prosecution. That alone is a crime worthy of impeachment.
