Kamala wants price controls. That means the government will tell bakeries how much they can sell a loaf of bread for. So, lets say the govt says a loaf of bread cannot be sold for more than $2. But the bakery can't produce a loaf of bread and sell it for $2 without incurring a financial loss on every loaf. So what happens? The bakery goes out of business and there is no bread to buy. But a black market bakery opens up and sells loaves for $3 and everyone buys bread from them at midnight. price controls have never worked but have been tried many times in many places, including the USA under other presidents.
