We don't have the highest corporate tax rate in the world. We have the highest rate among the OECD nations, but even that is misleading. Our statutory rate is the highest, but we also have a lot of deductions that make the real rate firms pay very low. It would be preferable to lower the rate, if we also paired that with cleaning out the web of deductions.

They didn't have those things, but they also rode around on horseback. They were practical men who realized societies evolved over time. Well, except for an insurance mandate. George Washington did sign one of those in to law for sailors.

By shipping jobs overseas, who benefits primarily? Labor costs are lower, there are precious few environmental and workplace safety regulations overseas. Who advocates for tighter environmental and workplace safety regulation: Liberals or Conservatives?
