Washington (CNN) US intelligence has identified the go-betweens the Russians used to provide stolen emails to WikiLeaks, according to US officials familiar with the classified intelligence report that was presented to President Barack Obama on Thursday.

In a Fox News interview earlier this week, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange denied that Russia was the source of leaked Democratic emails that roiled the 2016 election to the detriment of President-elect Donald Trump's rival, Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Meanwhile, US intelligence has received new information following the election that gave agencies increased confidence that Russia carried out the hack and did so, in part, to help Trump win.

Included in that new information were intercepted conversations of Russian officials expressing happiness at Trump's win. Another official described some of the messages as congratulatory.

Officials said this was just one of multiple indicators to give them high confidence of both Russian involvement and Russian intentions. Officials reiterated that there is no single intercepted communication that qualifies as a "smoking gun" on Russia's intention to benefit Trump's candidacy or to claim credit for doing so.

How will Trump explain this?

I am touched that Russia cares so much about America that they would save us from hillary.

Trump illegitimacy just keep growing stronger.

Wait ... now you're upset because his parents weren't married? That's not very progressive of you.

Keep your '50s morality off OUR President.

Yeah, it's all over the news--all major T.V. networks are reporting on it now. Tomorrow the intelligence committee is supposed to try and convince Comrade Trump.

I am certain Trump's physco babble interpreters that have been with him throughout this campaign will be circling the wagons on this one for months to come.

Sean Hannity actually stated that Julian Assange (founder of Wikileaks) told him that these hacks weren't coming from Russia--LOL I imagine that Assange is in a very deep hiding place about right now, and the efforts to find him, or take him out has just been Quadrupled by all intelligence agencies in this country. He is on the most wanted man list in the world right now. I am surprised that Trump didn't try and install him in a cabinet position--LOL He has praised him enough.
Trump Praises WikiLeaks Founder In Debate Over Russian Hacking

John McCain & Lindsey Graham are more pissed off than ever. They said Obama threw peddles at Putin, it's time to throw some rocks.

So it should get very interesting over the next coming weeks. If Trump denies it or tries to deflect it, these agencies will BURY him with it. You're just not going to get away with insulting & offending the CIA/FBI department of Homeland Security and all the others in this country without a severe action & political blow back.

If would be fun to watch FOX News--Sean Hannity--Trump's biggest fan and supporter. Then turn on Rush Limbaugh tomorrow to see how they're going to try and spin out of this one. But you'll have to break out your crayons and coloring books to get through it all. This is not going away anytime soon.

One Yuuuuuge mistake America!

Yes, the intelligence officials will try to educate an idiot tomorrow - who doesn't want to be educated. He doesn't want more proof that he will be an illegitimate president. He wants that to go away. Hopefully, John McCain won't let it go away.

Trump is still the President, even if Russia was behind the Wikileaks. So really, all this will amount to nothing.

The corruption of the Democrats and the mainstream media was revealed for the world to see by the Wikileaks revelations.

If the Russians played a part in that, then so be it. They did the American people a big favor freeing us from corrupt politicians that have kept us under a steel boot of oppression.

When the CIA intervenes in a foreign country to reveal the corruption of a oppressive regime, they are lauded as heroes.

And if you don't think Republicans are dirty and corrupt as well you're an idiot.
