List of cities in Iraq appreciating and celebrating 10 years of liberation by USA

The insurgents are loving it........just ask the 50, or so, civilians killed today

We should have let those Iraqi (fucks)people suffer under Saddam.

The Iraqis were responsible for removing SH, not us, although the Reagan administration armed him.

Neo-cons are simply idiotic.

I know. When I read the previous posts, the ignorance is stunning. Who are we to decide people need to be "liberated"? And did they thank us? It's 10 years of "liberation" this week. Where is the "thanks"? And now Iran has a "new best friend". And these right wingers are so ignorant, they can't even see it.

They are treating us as liberators

Every town has a statue of Bush in the public square

They set up checkpoints and killed anyone trying to leave the country when they invaded Kuwait. Thousands of women were kidnapped raped killed and brought back into Iraq to be sex slaves when the US came to liberate Kuwait. We should have had Saddams head then. We were justified to liberate Iraq but we should have soundly defeated the enemy set up a Kurdish Nation in the North and left.

Another fucking Saddam lover. Read about him killing an estimated 300,000 Iraqis, not adding up the ones and twos here and there. We're all better-off with him and his head being permanently separated.
Human rights in Saddam Hussein's Iraq - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

These same idiots get all mushy about "global warming" and how terrible Americans are especially at causing it.. EVIDENTLY NEVER heard what Saddam did to what is called the place where the "Garden of Eden" was located.
See what Scott Pelley calls the WMDs that Saddam used and in the process murdered thousands and dislocated hundreds of thousands...

In Iraq, where many biblical scholars place the Garden of Eden,
Scott Pelley finds a water world where the Marsh Arabs are making a comeback after Saddam nearly destroyed the cradle of civilization.

Scott Pelley :
"It turns out Saddam Hussein did possess a weapon of mass destruction and he used it in a slaughter that few have heard of until now: after the Gulf War in 1991, the dictator spent untold millions on this weapon, designed to exterminate an ancient civilization called the "Ma'dan," also known as the "Marsh Arabs."
In a five-year project 90 percent of the marshes were drained - an area of more than 3,000 square miles.
"... the marsh dwellers were important elements in the uprising against Saddam Hussein’s regime. To end the rebellion, the regime implemented an intensive system of drainage and water diversion structures that desiccated over 90% of the marshes. The reed beds were also burned and poison introduced to the waters.
It is estimated that more than 500,000 were displaced, 95,000 of them to Iran, 300,000 internally displaced, and the remainder to other countries. By January 2003, the majority of the marshes were wastelands.
"As an engineer, I'm telling you, drying of the marshes is definitely not an easy task. It's a monumental engineering project," Alwash explained. "He put every piece of equipment available in Iraq under his control at the services of the projects needed to dry the marshes."
"Saddam was using water as a weapon?" Pelley asked.
"You know, the world was looking for weapons of mass destruction. And the evidence was right under its nose," Alwash.

Resurrecting Eden - 60 Minutes - CBS News

NOW none of the above restoration would have occurred if THE USA had not Liberated Iraq!

People have forgotten that Iraq invaded Iran in 1980, and we didn't pile into that war, we somehow managed to mind our own business,

and someone we managed to survive.

Why did THAT approach suddenly stop being an option by 1990??

Why was not doing what had worked in 1980 a better idea?

Not doing what we did in 1980 got us 2 Iraq wars, 9/11, and an Afghan war. How was that the better outcome?

Sigh. The Iraqis grow closer to Iran, the women keep losing more and more of their freedoms, and the neo-cons in both parties want to go to war against Syria and Iran. Insanity.

Bush 41 suckered Saddam into invading Kuwait by giving him the infamous "green light"...

Yes Iraq invaded Iran but Iran had also been sending troops across the border to kill Iraqi civilians and mortared them on a regular basis. This is why animosity still exists today. They were two evenly matched powers with a legitimate beef and two governments who were going to fight it out to no avail. Much different than invading a country with barely a standing army and then raping, kidnapping and killing thousands.

So what? Those kind of wars times a hundred have been going on throughout Africa for centuries and somehow we've managed to stay out of almost all of them and still survive.

Why can't we let the nuts in the Middle East quarrel amongst themselves without our having to stick our nose in it?

We authorized him to take the disputed oil fields not the whole country of Kuwait then rape and plunder.

We have meddled in African affairs even militarily for a long time. No African country save for Egypt could form a threat to any Western nation. Arabic nations often tout hate speech and plan military conquests pf Western nations thus it behooves us to intervene accordingly and keep them at odds with each other and exercise military prowess when one becomes too powerful for others to contend with.
