M.L. King would have...

I disagree.

He would have supported Obamacare and probably welfare, he was a communist so I'm sure of that.

He was truely a religious man, unlike fakers like Sharpton and Jackson, so he would have not supported the rap lyrics of today.

He would rail against the deadbeat dads, and the breakdown of the family.

If that was true then why aren't Democrat and African American leaders promoting those views?

Because there is no money (or votes) in it.

Oh, you mean like the Bush tax cuts.

Uh, fuck you. MLK Jr. was no Communist. Produce corroborated documentation that he was you lying bitch.
And you don't know what he would have supported or not. I don't fucking like or approve of rap, lyrics or otherwise. But then, I'm a musician.

Fuck you. If you don't care enough to know basic facts about MLK then you are part of the problem, and I'm not really surprised.

Shame the left that claims MLK's legacy as theirs, have bastardized it. NONE to this day promote his dream.

And fuck you. MLK would be considered a staunch liberal today.
An AP article says that the Rev. Joseph Lowery, who co-founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference with King, "said there is no reason why anyone would think King was a Republican." Lowery told the AP that King almost certainly voted for Kennedy and that the only time he openly talked about politics was when he criticized Goldwater in 1964.

The story quotes Lowery as saying: "That was not the Martin I know, and I don't think they can substantiate that by any shape, form or fashion. It's purely propaganda and poppycock. ... Even if he was, he would have nothing to do with what the Republican Party stands for today."

I think he would know better than anyone, where MLK Jr.'s political leanings would "lie". Thank you very much. End of discussion.

Are you actually reading any of the posts you respond to? Because your replies have very little to do with them.

It's also very true. You want to change history now. That won't work on those who remember it as it happened. We remember King's Project C and how he sent black children into the path of Bull Connor's fire hoses, AFTER Connor had lost his election and would be gone in days.

He also had a penchant for white women. Especially blondes.

For years Coretta King (who divorced MLK) was convinced that the assassination was carried out by Malcom X with whom King had a running feud over King's liquor and whore expenses.

Martin Luther King was an evil evil man. It isn't surprising that no matter how good his intentions were his movement turned just as corrupt as he was.

Where is your documentation for your bald faced lies? Non-existent.
Stop spreading lies. STFU.

If that was true then why aren't Democrat and African American leaders promoting those views?

They are. They just dont report to you every time they speak on these issues.

Judging by their results they suck at leadership then and btw everyone should know.

Democrats like to keep African Americans under their thumb and for the most part dependent...that's sadly obvious.

And Republicans have you sucking Mitch McConnell's, John Boehner's, Rush Limbaugh's, Sarah Palin's, and the Koch Brother's, and Donald Trump's "Dicks". And you love it. You even swallow , and ask for more.

America’s Only Black Senator Not Invited To MLK Event Because He’s A Republican

Noticeably absent from the speaker line-up at the Let Freedom Ring event commemorating the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington today: the nation’s only black Senator, Tim Scott.

Scott, a Republican Representative appointed by S.C. Governor Nikki Haley earlier this year to fill former Sen. Jim DeMint’s seat in the U.S. Senate after he retired, was not invited to participate in the historic event, a spokesperson for the Senator confirmed to Red Alert Politics in an email.

African-American leaders who did receive an invitation to speak at included Rep. John Lewis (D-Ga.) – who participated in the original March – Martin Luther King III, MSNBC host Al Sharpton and movie stars Jamie Foxx, Oprah Winfrey and Forest Whitaker.

Where are Democrats and African American Leaders promoting welfare, deadbeat dads , the breakdown of the family, or rap. I'll wait for you to produce the documentation supporting that ridiculous allegation.

Their obvious in-action and lack of progress along those lines is obvious. Where are the Democrat, black, religious leaders speeches and action? They would rather whine about the slave trade that ended over 200 years ago.

Maybe because you are not listening?
No matter who you are, no matter what your color, creed, how you choose to pray or who you choose to love, that if you are an American - first generation or fifth - one who is willing to work hard, play by the rules and apply your God-given talents - that you should be able to find a job that pays the bills.

"Understanding as he does the depth of this problem, Jackson has to know that it will not be solved easily — or quickly. He sees the roots of this racial fratricide as crowded neighborhoods, high unemployment, bad schools, drug abuse and a proliferation of guns. Jackson wants to use the marches as a starting point in his efforts to get the nation to respond to this problem in much the same way it has tried to win the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan."

Shame the left that claims MLK's legacy as theirs, have bastardized it. NONE to this day promote his dream.

Who is "bastardizing" and misrepresenting his legacy and views below? Are you conservatives following the views he listed below or are you fighting against those views and ideas?

"The problem with this view is that King openly advocated quotas and racial set-asides. He wrote that the "Negro today is not struggling for some abstract, vague rights, but for concrete improvement in his way of life." When equal opportunity laws failed to achieve this, King looked for other ways. In his book Where Do We Go From Here, he suggested that "A society that has done something special against the Negro for hundreds of years must now do something special for him, to equip him to compete on a just and equal basis." To do this he expressed support for quotas. In a 1968 Playboy interview, he said, “If a city has a 30% Negro population, then it is logical to assume that Negroes should have at least 30% of the jobs in any particular company, and jobs in all categories rather than only in menial areas.” King was more than just talk in this regard. Working through his Operation Breadbasket, King threatened boycotts of businesses that did not hire blacks in proportion to their population. "

" King was even an early proponent of reparations. In his 1964 book, Why We Can't Wait, he wrote,

No amount of gold could provide an adequate compensation for the exploitation and humiliation of the Negro in America down through the centuries…Yet a price can be placed on unpaid wages. The ancient common law has always provided a remedy for the appropriation of a the labor of one human being by another. This law should be made to apply for American Negroes. The payment should be in the form of a massive program by the government of special, compensatory measures which could be regarded as a settlement in accordance with the accepted practice of common law. "

"You can't talk about solving the economic problem of the Negro without talking about billions of dollars. You can't talk about ending the slums without first saying profit must be taken out of slums. You're really tampering and getting on dangerous ground because you are messing with folk then. You are messing with captains of industry… Now this means that we are treading in difficult water, because it really means that we are saying that something is wrong…with capitalism… There must be a better distribution of wealth and maybe America must move toward a Democratic Socialism. "
Myths of Martin Luther King ?

Myth # 6: King was a conservative.

As all the previous myths show, King's views were hardly conservative. If this was not enough, it is worth noting what King said about the two most prominent postwar American conservative politicians, Ronald Reagan and Barry Goldwater.

King accused Barry Goldwater of "Hitlerism." He believed that Goldwater advocated a "narrow nationalism, a crippling isolationism, and a trigger-happy attitude." On domestic issues he felt that "Mr. Goldwater represented an unrealistic conservatism that was totally out of touch with the realities of the twentieth century." King said that Goldwater's positions on civil rights were "morally indefensible and socially suicidal."

King said of Reagan, "When a Hollywood performer, lacking distinction even as an actor, can become a leading war hawk candidate for the presidency, only the irrationalities induced by war psychosis can explain such a turn of events."
