David Ignatius: Maliki?s Iraq disaster - The Washington Post

Iraq is and will continue to be a collection of tribes and religions. Makiki has not kept his promise to make his government more inclusive and he is suffering the consequence. But we cannot allow ISIS to topple a government that is corrupt and self serving. I hope this serves as a warning to Maliki that he cannot continue business as usual.

Iraq is what America will be in a few years. We will be as much of a collection of tribes and religions as Iraq is now.

You left out: Bush's Fault

Until these people decide to be a country and not a tribe or a religion, there will be continuing civil uprisings. Basically, that is what is happening. And until Maliki allows the Sunni population to share in Iraq's future, there will continue to be civil wars.
