I have always watched elections and they always give partial results.
I assumed it was from machines, but maybe that is just exit polls?
Doesn't matter.
The point is the voting machines accomplish nothing except to reduce transparency, and should be illegal.
Even the butterfly ballots, hanging chads, etc., of the 2000 election should be illegal.
It should not be that hard for a single standards organization to come up with a single best election practice.

Exit polls give an estimate of how it is going but are no more reliable than any other poll

But why did we ever allow Manifest Destiny in the first place?
It clearly is evil, prevents democracy, and has established a huge authoritarian, federal bureaucracy that prevents any possible republic from working.
The Constitution requires powerful states and a weak central government.
Now states almost cease to exist, and the federal government is totally out of control.
They can imprison millions in an illegal War on Drugs or lie about Iraqi WMD, and there is no recourse.
The federal government does whatever it wants.

I went libertarian for the first time in my life that year. He wasn't unfit. He just didn't have a prayer to succeed and congress would not have supported him from either side, if he did. Judging by this president in office now and the last one finally voted out of office, that might not be a bad thing.

The only divorce we need is from the new breed of democrats. And we should remarry the old school Democrats that still loved america and Americans, they were never great but there was a time they had some measure of respect from me.

But honestly if Democrats win the next election and don't seriously alter the course of our country back on track i would support a separation. If they win again we are fucked because they will be so entrenched it will be almost impossible to get them out, they already dug in like a tick now.
