We are the only developed country with this level of gun violence. Americans feel that there is nothing that we can do. They are wrong. But meaningful action requires new political leadership.
I’d start fining gun manufacturers $1 million for each person killed by their weapons. That would get more companies focused on how to keep guns out of the hands of those who would do others harm.

A gun is a tool that pushes a projectile a certain distance. How can you fine a manufacturer when the tool works properly? Slippery slope there.
