Meet the Sisk family

John & Mary Sisk Family: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know | Heavy.com

John and Mary Sisk, the parents shot to death with their three young children in Elkmont, Alabama, were a car dealer tech known as “Dub Diesel” and a middle school special education teacher. Authorities say the family was slain by a 14-year-old boy who was John’s son and Mary’s stepson.

The suspect accused of killing all five family members – including an infant – has not yet been identified by authorities because of his young age.

So a 14 year old boy kills his parents and sibs and it doesnt raise a ripple because gun slaughter is an every day thing in the crazy US.

Pop was banned from owning a gun but this doesnt seem to be a problem because nobody checks if that is being enforced.

Should the authorities go around and check if these people actually have guns ?

Na. Smart thugs don't use guns unless there is a good reason.

How would that be done?
People who are not allowed to own guns should have their homes searched .There has to be accountability or the law is pointless.

Amendment IV

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
The problem with this is that it falls into the ‘price of freedom’ trap – that the Constitution renders us ‘helpless’ to address gun crime and violence, and that innocent children must needlessly die to safeguard our protected rights and liberties.

It’s like Michael Dukakis’ response to ‘what if your wife were raped and murdered.’

No, moron there is no "price of freedom trap." What we have is a political party that doesn't care about actual gun crime......as shown by the cities they run. We already have laws on the books that allow us to arrest and jail anyone who uses a gun to commit an actual crime.

The actual problem is that democrats keep letting violent, repeat gun offenders out of jail on Bond, often not even charging them bail......and out of prison on short sentences....that is our problem.....

And that you would drag children into this shows you are a vile asshat........if you want Children safe, then stop voting for democrats....democrats who keep letting repeat gun offenders out of jail and prison........

Of course, you're addressing someone who supports the “right” to abortion—prima facie proof that he truly does not care about the lives or well-being of children.

I absolutely get your point. And I don't necessarily think you're wrong. I think there has to be a way to address situations like this that still respect the Constitution... but I'll be damned if I know what they are or should be. In the mean time, it's what we've got...

That's not the way it works here. There has to be probable cause to search a person's home and simply being barred from owning a firearm is not it. Probable cause comes into play if it is reported or otherwise suspected that the person has firearms in his possession. Otherwise, the authorities are theoretically able to search everyone's home to see if they have, say, bombs or bomb making materials because no one is allowed to possess a bomb.
But you have a law in place and decline to enforce it. Keeping guns from criminals seems a sensible move.
So any felon who has served his time (they arent allowed to posess a gun) should forever relinquish their 4th Amendment rights?

Yes we have a law making possession of a firearm during a crime a 5 year MANDATORY Federal prison sentence. Another thst makes it a crime to fail a background check.

US District Attorneys routinely plead these charges away or simply fail to charge them. THISE would make a huge difference.
Your police are weak and ineffective. That is why the Sisks are dead.
You know that’s not true.

You’re also familiar enough with the American Constitutional system to know that random, unwarranted searches by the state are illegal, that the police are agents of the state and subject to Constitutional restrictions, and that absent evidence that a prohibited person is in possession of a firearm, any search or seizure would likewise be illegal.

You’re as bad as most conservatives on this site – the same disingenuous ‘arguments,’ the same propensity for sophistry.
The father owned guns that he had no right to own.If the law was enforced they would all be alive.Being searched is part of their sentence. Where is the problem ?

Then he purchased the guns illegally. That’s a crime. He’s only subject to search if he’s still on probation (with probable cause) or when stopped by officers. Outside of thst we have a Constitutional Amendment thst prohibits searches without cause. This isn’t Northern Ireland circa 1986.

My preference to prevent this is to execute all Felons and give Life without Parole to misdemeanor offenders. Then he’d still be in jail.

Oh I know, we could assemble a force to do that....They could wear black uniforms, and we could call them the SS...That would work right?

It didn't raise a ripple because the kid was most likely severely disturbed and the media supports and condones insanity these days. The lesson,....monitor the mood altering drugs that schools freely prescribe to adolescent kids.

Have you not been paying attention? More than one person here has told you how our system works. Being searched is not part of the sentence. The sentence only stipulates that he cannot legally own firearms. It does not stipulate that he is subject to periodic searches.

As I said before, being barred from owning firearms is no indication that he will procure one anyway. It only indicates that his past criminal actions make him untrustworthy. And even being deemed untrustworthy is no indication he will procure a firearm.

Only when they discover that he has firearms can law enforcement act. And if they they only suspect he has firearms, it has to be based on evidence.

Do you understand this?

When is the last time the home, which you lease from the Queen because you cannot own land, was searched for guns?

Did you post about the thousands of London children raped by Muslims while the government sat back and watched?
