Anyone can be tried in court if the court accepts the legal brief. As it stands, they don't have enough evidence to rise to a credible criminal complaint against Trump.

However, even if they did and they managed to get a conviction, that could not remove him from office. ONLY the Congress can do that.

Let's not forget the first principle of our government. there are THREE co-equal branches of government. The courts are not bound by the executive.

In the face of clear evidence of criminal conduct, a trial can be had. Just ask Nixon.

If they file a criminal complaint in court, the House then Impeaches and the Senate convicts and then the ex-President goes to trial.

In BOTH cases, beyond a reasonable doubt will be the standard for the evidence to remove Trump.
