If they have a birth certificate and/or a valid ID to establish eligibility, they can also use that when they're actually voting. Problem solved.Which is my point For 200 year a voter didn't need a specific government ID in order to vote. After having established their eligibility with a birth certificate or license based upon it, all they needed was any reasonable ID, and their signature. So as you said, why change a system that has worked for 200 years.
Unless you're quibbling on the tiny percentage of incompetents who have lost their ID and are too lazy to get a replacement. You need an ID to negotiate society in any meaningful capacity.
If you're a citizen, you have the right to vote. Just prove your citizenship when you actually vote.
That the left has such a problem with accountability is quite telling to the perceptive.
