2.4 million jobs lost due to China from 2001-2008

When Republicans on the USMB say someone should just go out and get a job, do they understand the scope of the number of jobs that were moved to China under Bush?

Do they understand that you have to be qualified for something? "Willing" to work isn't enough.

Do Republicans understand the cost of minimum wage?

Do they still believe in "trickle down"?

Correct me if I'm wrong, Deanie but wasn't Barack Obama's "Jobs Czar" Jeffrey Immelt...the CEO of GE? In 2001, the year Immelt became CEO, GE had 158,000 US employees. In 2009, GE employed just 134,000 Americans. Under Obama’s guy Immelt, GE has shed 24,000 American workers, or 15% of its US workforce. In 2001, GE employed 152,000 workers abroad. In 2009, that number had edged up to 154,000. GE’s non-US workforce now exceeds its American workers.

Hmmmm...funny thing...the guy that seems to be WAY guilty of job exportation seems to be the very guy that Barry put in charge of creating jobs here in America! Gee, wonder why THAT hasn't worked out very well? (Eye roll)

As for minimum wage jobs? You'd be better served to worry about all the people now relegated to working part time jobs as employers react to the train wreck that IS ObamaCare by cutting back the hours of full time workers to part time. One more example of progressives screwing up the lives of ordinary Americans because they don't understand basic economics.

The last time I looked Barry Hussein was still president. Why does the radical left keep whining about the majority party in the House?

Over four hundred filibusters? You could start with that.

Boehner: Judge Congress by how many laws it repeals, not passes - Politics

How many have they passed? 15? Making it the least productive in US history.

How many have they repealed? ZERO! Fucking ZERO!

How can these assholes defend that? I don't get it.

And once again, they say "but but but the Democrats". They take no responsibility for their obstructionism, or the two wars, or the deficit creating Bush Tax cuts.. Then the dirty fucks say "But Obama extended the Bush Tax Cuts". Yea, but Republicans were holding millions of unemployed Americans hostage whose jobs they ruined.

Unemployment benefits: not until Bush tax cuts pass, Senate GOP says - CSMonitor.com

I'm telling you, these right wingers are creeps. And we can use their own words to prove it.

wasn't Obama suppose to bring millions of those jobs back into the country?

and save us?

who can keep these people's and rdeans stories straight anymore

they go on and on and on

Unemployment was 5% until Fannie and Freddie pulled the housing market down

ummm..... they were followers NOT leaders Frank. Those would be your *cough* "investment" banker buds  :eusa_whistle:

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were victims, not culprits - BusinessWeek
Start with the most basic fact of all: virtually none of the $1.5 trillion of cratering subprime mortgages were backed by Fannie or Freddie. That’s right — most subprime mortgages did not meet Fannie or Freddie’s strict lending standards. All those no money down, no interest for a year, low teaser rate loans? All the loans made without checking a borrower’s income or employment history? All made in the private sector, without any support from Fannie and Freddie.

I hate to break this to you but you're the object of derision, Deanie...not hate. You post silly shit. You always have and it appears you always will.
So now Oldstyle speaks for everyone? :eusa_think:
He's sure speaking for jobs. This whole "jobs-to-China-from-2001-to-2008" rant is downright certifiable. Reality is that job creation soared during the 01-08 era, and then...

...it plunged never having clawed back up its former level --and forget about keeping up with population. Over the past seven years Americas gained ten million 15-64 year-olds without work. Furthermore, the number's been increasing again.

They set the standard for AAA rated paper.

They accepted subprime No Income No Asset Loans for AAA rating

Try again and stay away from Krugman

How pathetically stupid are you? Still blaming Bush??? Really???

All those jobs lost during the Bush administration were a result of NAFTA and other free trade agreements enacted by slick willy in his first term as president.

Since the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) was signed in 1993, the rise in the U.S. trade deficit with Canada and Mexico through 2002 has caused the displacement of production that supported 879,280 U.S. jobs. Most of those lost jobs were high-wage positions in manufacturing industries. The loss of these jobs is just the most visible tip of NAFTA’s impact on the U.S. economy. In fact, NAFTA has also contributed to rising income inequality, suppressed real wages for production workers, weakened workers’ collective bargaining powers and ability to organize unions, and reduced fringe benefits.

NAFTA is a free trade and investment agreement that provided investors with a unique set of guarantees designed to stimulate foreign direct investment and the movement of factories within the hemisphere, especially from the United States to Canada and Mexico. Furthermore, no protections were contained in the core of the agreement to maintain labor or environmental standards. As a result, NAFTA tilted the economic playing field in favor of investors, and against workers and the environment, resulting in a hemispheric “race to the bottom” in wages and environmental quality.
