Terrible idea on the behalf of the pageant. Viewership geared toward mainstream 18-35 y/o is down across the board. And what did the event do? Give the viewers one less reason to watch. If you’re interested, it will be interesting to see what they do next to try to attract viewers—they have to know this will have a detrimental effect.

My favorite quote about the change was that the new chair of the competition said “Polling shows that people are not tuning in to see the swimsuit competition.” Yeah…polling also shows that most Americans want more documentaries on regular TV.

It allowed me a successful 5 year stint in retail management where I hired and rated people based upon performance and not looks.

And now I as a statistician I am able to work with a wide variety of people of all sizes and looks and just deal with them based upon their needs or theri skills and not worry about whether they are hot or not.

Showing up on time is not really a skill.

Actually, if you have ever been in charge of anyone, you would know that it is a vital skill that many people are lacking these days. I think I fired more people for not being able to make it to work on time than anything else.

I have never moved past the adage my first 1stSgt told me..."if you are not 15 minutes early, you are late".
