Must be nice: White dude with a Gun taken in peacefully after a 6 hour standoff

It looked like a real gun

Here can you tell the difference ? Which one of these is a real gun and which is a toy and remember you have about 1 second to decide

50034-000.jpg

Since it's an open carry state anyway, what difference does that make? Are you saying that cops should decide within 2 seconds whether to kill every person they see with a gun?

Hey you're the one who is making an issue that the gun was a "toy"

And there is a big difference between carrying a gun openly in a holster and pointing a gun at someone

So if any one of those guns pictured was pointed at you would you be able to tell which one was a "toy"

There is no reason why a kid playing with a toy the way it is intended to be played with should put him in danger of being killed by a cop.

FYI an Air gun is not a toy. They are in fact quite dangerous and can cause serious injury

You have to be 18 to buy one.

Again, Airsoft is not a firearm, and is legal in every state for anyone to use.

Again could you tell the difference between an air soft gun and a real one if someone pointed it at you?

Killing with a gun is preceeded by "put the gun down". In the case of the latest dumbshit, it was "put the gun down" 12 times. Did the cop say put the gun down 12 times in two seconds.

I doubt the guy who killed the 12 tear old had time to say anything before he shot to kill.

Because he was reported to have been pointing the gun at civilians and he pointed it at the cops

It's doesn't take too much intelligence to see the difference

So any random person on the phone can make the decision to kill a 12 year old kid, and the police just take their word for it?

The kid POINTED the gun in the cop's direction

In 2 seconds, how could he even tell? You are wrong in this case, and nothing you can say will make this murder acceptable.

My god are you thick

The cop couldn't tell if it was a real gun or not because it LOOKS just like a real gun

I suppose the cop should have waited until he was shot before he fired

6 seconds to comply?
6 minutes to comply?
No...6 hours to comply.....

Hell the terrorist made 4 bombs and had a shootout with police and was taken alive.

Legal issues in airsoft - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Under federal law, airsoft guns are not classified as firearms and are legal for all ages. People under the age of 18 are not permitted to buy airsoft guns over the counter in stores. However, a person of any age may use one. This is also the case for the laws in each state.

And how does that prove that one can tell an air soft gun from a real gun at a distance

oh yeah it doesn't

If a toy puts a child at risk of death by cop, they can either classify them as firearms and nit sell them as toys, or the cop will need to use a little common sense. You think cops are capable of using common sense? He didn't in this situation.

So now not only is it the cop's fault for not being able to tell if it was a real gun but also the manufacturer's fault for making it look like a real gun and the politicians fault for not passing the right laws

Please tell me where in any documentation provided by Air Soft on the use of their product that any of their guns are meant to be pointed at other people

You might want to google Airsoft Competitions, and then get back to me. Airsoft is quickly pushing paintball out of the market because it's so much cheaper to shoot the people on the other team.

So that is a use not recommended nor intended by the manufacturer
I have already quoted one of their user manuals for you

Did he remove or alter the orange tip?

Should parents be responsible for letting their kids have guns that look real? If a person walks into a liquor and robs it using a replica gun, would they still be charged with armed robbery because the gun wasn't real?

Baltimore police defend shooting of teen with BB gun - CNN.com
The teen is expected to recover from his injuries, police said.

What police at first thought could have been a gun turned out to be a Daisy Powerline 340 .177-caliber BB gun.

The weapon is meant to be used for target shooting, according to Davis.

Davis called the weapon "a dead-on ringer for a Beretta 92FS semiautomatic pistol."

Davis said he did not know why the teenager had the BB gun or why he ran. He said officers had interviewed the teen's mother and that she knew he had left the house with the gun.

He defended the officers' actions, saying officers couldn't have known the gun was a replica.

"They did what the community expects them to do," he said.

Police can't just watch someone "walk down the street in broad daylight anywhere in Baltimore with what looks like to be a semiautomatic pistol in his hand," Davis said. "We can't call 911, we are 911."

Officers, he said, had no idea what the teen's intentions were.

Surprising they didn't write "wink wink" in quotes beside that. The entire purpose of airsoft is to have mock battles. There are legal businesses that provide that in every state, and most mid size to large cities. You can ignore that if you want to, but it just shows how disingenuous you are.

Not according to the manufacturer.

The manufacturer has no control over how the public uses their product. They print their user manuals that say do not aim at another person even if unloaded.

It's in not the manufacturers fault if people do not follow their instruction

The manufacturer doesn't determine how their product is commonly used, ni matter what they might put in a brochure. Those toys are used to shoot other people, and nothing you say changes that. No kid should be in danger of death by cop for playing with a toy the way it is commonly played with.

Aint that sweet? Must be nice. And he had a replica gun! I think it's safe to say that if he was black he would've been shot dead, on site. Then the cops would've said they felt threatened by the big, bad looking dude. And then the peanut gallery would chime in with some excuse about the police being in fear for their safety. Mass murderers, rapists, suicidal privileged, and even terrorists can get disarmed and taken in alive, but unarmed black people... Executed.

After long standoff, police arrest suicidal man at Civic Center

Tell me why haven't you answered the question as to which of the pictures I posted was a real gun and which was a "toy"

If you can't tell the difference and you can stare at the pics as long as you want how is a cop supposed to tell the difference from 20 feet away?

If he can't tell the difference he shouldn't shoot. He isn't allowed to kill someone every time he thinks there MIGHT be danger.

Nonetheless, those "mock battles" are held in special areas. Not on the street. What are you proposing here?

If it was up to me, I'd pass a law that toy guns must be bright colors such as lime, orange or yellow.
