...I asked her who he is planning to shoot with all that ammo.

She said "the zombies."

We've all seen the movies, so everyone knows what's coming.

First the run on the grocery stores, where they will run out of food and toilet paper and medicine.

Then there will be looting.

Then, people will start shooting each other for these supplies.

It seems that so many people are eager to see it happen.

According to what I've read on this forum, I have a four in one thousand chance of dying of coronavirus if I'm infected.

Should I panic?

I think you should relax.

The next thing that happens is a young girl whose blood holds the key to a cure to the virus will have to be escorted by some tough guy through territory plagued by zombies, vigilante militia groups and end-of-the-word religious cultists. The girl will finally reach "Sanctuary" but the hero will die in a big shoot out at the end.

Many fools do shamelessly hope for mass strife and chaos. But few of them have what it takes to survive such an event. They imagine themselves lords of some wasteland, which they can freely roam plucking anything they might need from the environment around them. Absent the bulk population, they fantasize themselves “set for life”. Few of the gloomers bother in their fantasy to count themselves amongst the dead.

I have no delusions that I would survive some end of the world scenario. I don't even like camping.

Now for the “zombie” in the story... It’s far more dangerous than the Hollywood renditions. These aren’t mindless automatons. These are cogent fearful masses. Scared masses who believed in a society, and had “faith” in a government that “let them down”. These are the metaphorical zombies that the tales refer to. And they are far more dangerous than a bunch of single minded, reanimated corpses craving human flesh. Never underestimate the power of frightened, stupid people in great numbers.

I have not stocked up on ammo or toilet paper so I'm screwed if things get out of hand.

You probably should panic, seeing as how you have a five-hundred in one thousand chance of dying from a someone panicking over the Corona Virus. :04:

There is a whole genre of Hollywood movies portraying people trying to survive after a civilization ending event.

Now, it seems that millions of people want to have that adventure in real life.

The Democrats and the media are stirring it all up, hoping to cripple the economy and hurt Trump.

If we all went about our lives as normal, people would still die, but Wall Street would not be crashing and the stores would not be running out of toilet paper.

So really, the panic is worse than the virus.

Meh, Moss and Palmettos are everywhere here. I can gather enough moss every AM to wipe. Hopefully no redbugs.

I could hunt for dinner every night if I had to.

Also..acquire some yardbirds.

I heard the grocery stores and Sam's/Costco are like..crazy!

All I need is beer for the foreseeable future. :alcoholic:

Seriously, my friend's girl was freaking out about butter.

I have 5 lbs, stocked up when it was $2.25/lb

Maybe 6 lbs.

Did not mention that. ;x

I suppose could use some tuna, but I can shoot a squirrel, too. (or 2)

Squirrels here are small.
