Nestle Moving Out of California

We get smart people and rich people that are all liberals pushing agendas that push for illegal aliens they can exploit, gay rights (because being neurotic sexually defines liberalism) and defending Islam (the very religion that contradicts liberalism) just to be contrary. Liberals would sell the very rope to hang themselves, that's what they are all about. They creep me out. I reject that form of liberalism. They are better than that.

The future of the California economy hinges on developing the internet of things, smart-home technology, wearable technology, robotics, information technology, etc.

Chocolate milk powder can be made anywhere.
Um....it's their corporate headquarters.....idiot.....

Okay, I'll admit I've not been fully briefed on the all-important toll house cookie situation here in California. So they're moving their corporate headquarters from a high rent area to a place with a lot of office vacancies. Totally understandable, and not a major economic loss.

Other companies and people are doing the same. The astronomical cost of living, taxes, failed government, to say nothing of the oppressive traffic. The debt of California, including their unfunded liabilities, is shocking. The state, led by Governor Moonbeam cannot resist buying any and all bright shiny objects . The state of Florida is in excellent financial condition along with our retirement funds. We rejected six billion dollars from the Federal government to go toward building a high-speed rail. California jumped at the thought of a high-speed rail in their state. The result is nothing has been done on the train and the estimated cost has already doubled. That is just part of the reason the state is on the decline.

I like the fact that each state has its own unique character. And if you don't like one state, you have the freedom to move to another. I'm a lifelong northern Californian, can't imagine ever moving away, definately not to southern Cal.

California doesn't try to compete with clone industries that copy our shit and sprout up elsewhere. We invent tomorrow's growth industries, some of which I've already mentioned. The future home, the future armies, the future gadgets, etc.

I'm not worried about Nestle moving. They got public money thrown at them by Virginia and Ohio. The taxpayers of Glendale didn't have to pay for Nestle to stay. No big loss. Congratulations to Virginia, you paid millions for 750 jobs. Good luck with that.
So now 750 people will be 'inventing tomorrow's growth industries, ................. The future home, the future armies, the future gadgets, etc." in Virginia. HAAA HAAAAA!
Silicone Valley is like an old Starbucks who's been in the same location for thirty years.
Yesterday's 'bright shiny object'.
You want to see what REAL cutting edge computer tech. looks like visit one of dozens of Silicon Valleys in China and India.
Even the kids who push the tea carts around have PHDs in computer science and advanced electronic biometrics.

Maybe you could list a few companies in China and India that are developing the future of transportation (driverless cars), the future soldier (Google's Atlas robot), the future of medicine (cannabinoids), the future smarthome (Google Nest), or the future of wearable technology on the same level as California.

California's private sector spends $50 billion annually on research and development. A driverless car has a malfunction and the rest of the nation laughs at us. That's the cross we bear. But sooner than later we will completely transform the auto industry. Then others will copy us, maybe some companies will move to horridly humid places with low rent, but by then we'll be working on pilotless flying machines.

But, oh no, we lost a few paper pushers for a junk food company. We're doomed!

So which countries are manufacturing the parts for your driverless vehicles? The hardware/software for the 'future soldier? The 'wearable technology. The 'Smartphones'?
If you believe these countries billionaire businessmen aren't simply taking US technology and developing the exact same or better products themselves to sell to the world you have never met an Asian billionaire businessman pal.

Parts manufacturers don't qualify as paradaigm-shifting companies, regardless of how much money they make. Replication is not invention. So, that's not an answer to my question.

Met a nice couple from California this morning. They and their three children will be permanently leaving in about 3 months. They want the kids to finish school there and then they'll register them for school here. They took the whole family to visit schools in three communities nearby and it was clear that they'll need to start off in the same grade they will have just finished in California to avoid having to take a lot of remedial classes. Brings to mind the signs that were at the California boarder when Jerry Brown was in his first lapse of reality:

Entering California
Lower your expectations

And the ones on Oregon's southern boarder:

Welcome to Oregon
Now go home
They're leaving 'cause they presently live in a "university town" and are tired of having to navigate through riot zones and have concerns about property being burned. Fortunately they both have skills that are in demand so new jobs won't be a problem and, though they may earn a little less, lower property assessments and tax rates (not to mention bye-bye state income tax) will more than make up for it.

California: A great place to be from!

California lost 9,000 business HQs and expansions, mostly to Texas, 7-year study says

Roughly 9,000 California companies moved their headquarters or diverted projects to out-of-state locations in the last seven years, and Dallas-Fort Worth has been a prime beneficiary of the Golden State’s “hostile” business environment.

That’s the conclusion of study by Joseph Vranich, a site selection consultant and president of Irvine, California-based Spectrum Location Solutions.

Potheads in California don't mind raising revenue for our State, to potentially enable lower corporate tax rates.

Space X designs its rocketry in California because we lead the world in engineering and software development.

They test their rocketry in Texas where land is cheap and regulations are minimal.

They launch from Florida because they have the best location (closer to the equator) and facilities like the Kennedy Space Center.

Different states have different assets, and that's a good thing.

Indeed, I work in the new recreational marijuana industry which is projected to do $6.4 billion in statewide sales by 2020. The company I work for took over a warehouse where kitchen cabinets used to be designed and built. Maybe they moved to Texas, idk.

But I think the real potential is in non-psychoactive medicines for fighting cancer, athsma, PTSD, depression, seizures and pain. These new medicines will be cheaper and more effective than current pharmaceuticals.

An Irvine, CA company just released a new inhaler for athsma. Maybe someday they'll take over the Glendale facility where Nestle used to try to figure out how to save their dying business model.

It isn't because of "liberals", moron. This is a capitalistic nation, comrade, and CA has traditionally been a republican state, funded by oil money. Democraps are new to the party, and busy trying to destroy it.
