New GM Bolt 200 mile EV coming out- Is the GOP still against? Catch fire? Cost 300k to build bs?

"Priced around $30,000 (after government rebates)' that means 'subsidized by tax payer's'.

The whole thing reads like a paid advertisement.

OP is just a shill/hater/dupe.
How much is the car? Rebates are taxable as we learned from the Cash for Clunkers program. If the government rebate is $20,000, are people prepared to pay the tax on that $20,000 income?
7k.

As usual your ignorance is used by Pubs to convince you of that crap.
These electric cars are basically a dirty bomb of toxic waste, a fact you libtards like to leave out.

You do realize that the majority of the power produced in this country is through coal and nuclear. When that large battery needs to get charged, those sources of electricity are still in demand. Here is the other problem. Have you ever looked into how those large batteries have to be disposed? They aren't very biodegradable. So he is correct in saying that parts of the car is indeed toxic. Perhaps your "ignorance" had overlooked those small little details??

Now add the toxic waste produced in manufacturing the batteries its some very nasty stuff. These libtards would freak out but since the pollution is happening in other countries they don't seem to care. Just another example of libtards talking out their ass about the environment.

Did the party first obstruction of the GOP stall the recovery long enough for the rest of the world to fall apart? China may be saying yes. Don't say you weren't warned...
GM should not have been saved. More re-distribution from the poor and middle class to the rich. Typical dem corporatist/GOP policy. Just like deregulating the financial sector.

I agree. No way one dollar of tax money should have been used to save GM or Chrysler. Tax money isn't meant to be given to any company.

We still haven't been repaid for that "loan." I doubt we ever will.

Hmmmmm.................. Very interesting that the 'Conservatives' are so concerned about pollution from the batteries. Now we have many hundreds millions of lead acid batteries of all sizes in this nation. The manufacture of them involves toxic materials. How do we handle that? Don't you imagine if we can handle that, we can handle the lithium batteries?

Just read the Forbes article. Looks like GM is stealing Tesla's thunder. Upgradeable over the whole lifespan of the vehicle. 200 miles range. And in the 30 K range. Now as Tesla and others develop more powerful and less expensive batteries that price will come down.

Interesting that they actually designed it from the git-go as an EV, rather than retro fitting it to an existing ICE. More car companies will be doing this in the future. That is what gave Tesla such an advantage with the S.

Damn right it isn't.
826M write off before bankruptcy
They paid off their loan with stocks and we ended up losing over 11 billion during the sell-off.

Yup. They got our tax money, Paid off their fucked up pension funds and then went bankrupt anyway.

No way should tax money be used to bail out any company. They stand or fall on their own merit.

You dupes wouldn't be happy until we had breadlines and potters fields. Um, that was millions of middle class jobs saved, and deregulating is the the pander to the rich Pub trick duh. WTH?

harley would gripe about finding a $20 on the sidewalk because a Liberal dropped it .
finding money dropped by a liberal is sorta just like finding money you dropped yourself.
Not as much of a thrill as finding money that you didnt work for in the first place.

Sigh, once again the liberal left spins a tale so they have something to bitch about. There are other electric cars that no one says a word about because they were not built like the Volt, didn't catch fire like the Volt and do not cost an arm and a leg like the Volt. The problem with the Volt was not the RW it was that a Chevy Cruise is about the same size but cost a whole lot less and is just as cheap to operate. Who is going to buy an electric card knowing that in a few years there will be a very expensive battery change?

If the Bolt does not have the same problems nothing will be said it will be somewhat welcomed. But with today's gasoline prices it might be a hard sell.

that plus some people might actually like to go on a trip now and again where they are not limited to just 200 miles between charges.
the concept is good but the reality is not at all adequate for anyone that does not live their entire life locked in a vile city,, and actually, if you live in a city where are you going to charge it anyway? the thugs will just steal your electric cord every night.

Still FOS, dupe...It sells just fine, just took a year to get past that total BS from the RW. Sure helps that it's a partisan thing now...

did I hit a nerve with a city dweller?
Sorry if the truth hurts but, you are not going to stop people from seeing things for what they are simply by calling them racists.

while Im at it allow me to point out that I said thugs, I did not say mexicans, or blacks or mention any other race.
I would think that this suggests when you think of thug, your mind automatically goes to black.
In light of this I think it only fair to point out that you are the racist in this instance.
You should really check yourself on this one.

Thanks for the corrupt Pub world depression, dingbat dupe. I'm sure that had nothing to do with GM's troubles. And a full bankruptcy is somewhat different duh.

Yup, our tax money should just be used for tax cuts for your megarich heroes and giant corps, nothing to help the downtrodden middle class. THAT would be class warfare. Idiot.

If the People want it, they'll buy it. As long as it's not a Government-mandated decision, i wish em the best. Let the People decide. That's the way it should be.
