New Guinea To Base Government On Bible

Glad I don't live there.
That sounds like a terrible time..
From the description in the OP, it's America before it had schools.
You mean when they were hanging people for being witches and shit? Lol, terrible time.

Well, if my memory serves me correctly, it was not all that long ago that they had headhunters there.
Still have cannibals. And if im not mistaken, they were killing off sorcerers a couple years ago lol

Man! I guess were it not for all the trees and jungle, one would think he was in Chicago's inner city ghettos?

The government of New Guinea has asked for American Churches to donate towards purchasing over 200,000 Bibles in order to make them available to every school child in the nation. New Guinea officials have so embraced the Bible that they wish to bring all the children up with the Bible being the primary text of study within their educational system and as result, eventually have their government based upon Biblical principles. This is certainly not the direction our government has led our nation with the denial of prayer within the school.

Trying to impose Christianity over the traditional animism and ancestor worship that have served them till now. Should be a free choice not brainwashing

The Bible covers 2 major religions, which one is "established by reading the Bible?

Sounds like their government is attempting to follow Western history: religion, then the other ages.

So reading the Bible establishes Christianity as the national religion?

Which version of the Bible are you using? New World Translation is used by Jehovah's Witnesses. And then which books? I'm counting about 68 books in the Old Testament used by various traditions. And the Tewahedo churches (off-shoots of Ethiopian Orthodox) include several books in the New Testament not used by anyone else.

Whichever version you use, you are establishing that as the official government-approved version, or, at minimum, disavowing those traditions that do not use whichever version you choose.

I didn't say the Bible is a religion. Are you denying that it is used to teach religion? And/or that which version you use can support a specific religion?

They've embraced hope for their nation.

You know who else uses their holy book as a way to teach schools? Islam, because all the madrassas use the Koran to teach the kids.

Not only that, but because their whole system is based on their religion, they have a theocracy, where it is looked down upon (or worse) to be of a religion other than Islam.

Interesting.............the ME is a Muslim theocracy, and now on the other side of the planet, they want to build a Christian theocracy.

Our own government is Bible-based and Bible study was once a foundation of education. The further we stray from the Bible and God as a nation the worse we become as citizens.

Grew up in Chicago's Englewood and spent a year from one end of New Guinea to the other end. There were over 800 dialects with their "Tok Pisen" and I would suspect that the people of New Guinea will quickly change the Bible and sermons to fit their own needs and culture.
