NO MATTER WHAT Trump or his Administration does, by Saturday, the headlines will read:

Trump acted too late.

Trump tried to take the spotlight off the "heroes" and shine it on himself.

Trump did the wrong thing; he did the right thing, but did it wrong.

Trump helped white people, but left darkies and "Hispanics" in the lurch.

You read it here first.

Well, there's a bit too much evidence to the contrary, and there's no Blanco or Nagin screwup to transfer the blame to Trump the way they did Bush.

Some media may push a flat lie, but it will be tough to sell it widely.

Hey, Billy! For what it's worth, I think this whole argument is without merit. It was wrong to blame Bush/Nagin/Blanco for Katrina, and it is wrong to place blame for the tragic human effects of Harvey. All of these folks acted in good faith during an event in which results cannot be predicted or even well guessed at. None of us on this board would have made better decisions in such an iffy situations. Most of us have never been in a situation where we've had to leave our homes with what we can carry, and all of us, with the heads up constantly looped by the weather forecasters, are responsible for ourselves. If folks with the means to 'get out of Dodge' sat around waiting for somebody to tell them what to do, shame on them. Nobody could predict where the floods would hit or how much water would hit, so where could they tell folks without means to escape is a safe place to go? Disasters like this are always a cluster..... We're wasting effort and air complaining instead of learning.
