Nine Pages - to find a Romney Thread

Obama has had two weeks in a row where he made typically snobbish statements.

Like when Obama said this week Hawaii is part of Asia instead of the United States, and called us lazy last week.

His distain for the US and it's population is quite obvious and his people need to tell him to put a sock in it.

Obama never called us lazy

Actually he's called us lazy twice on camera.

The latest time was last week and they've been playing it all week.

The time before caused me to start a thread on it.

Coming from such a lazy individual as Obama, you would think he would keep such opinions to himself.

The guy just can't make an effective non-offensive speech without a teleprompter? His passive-aggressive persona reveals his true contempt for the American people who voted for him and for those that didn't.

Obama, referring to working-class voters in old industrial towns decimated by job losses, said: "They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them."

To which Hillary Clinton replied: "His remarks are elitist and out of touch."

Let's see the quote where Obama calls us lazy

“I think it’s important to remember that the United States is still the largest recipient of foreign investment in the world. And there are a lot of things that make foreign investors see the U.S. as a great opportunity — our stability, our openness, our innovative free market culture.

But we’ve been a little bit lazy, I think, over the last couple of decades. We’ve kind of taken for granted — well, people will want to come here and we aren’t out there hungry, selling America and trying to attract new business into America...."

Who is the "we" he's speaking about? Americans perhaps?

Americans are lazy, intellectually speaking, sometimes it almost breaks my heart to hear the incredibly incurious opinions of my fellow citizens.

Thanks...I knew you couldn't do it.

Obama never called Americans lazy. That is why you are afraid to post the actual quote

Do you or the Republican party disagree with what he said?

If so, what do you disagree with?

Americans are lazy, intellectually speaking, sometimes it almost breaks my heart to hear the incredibly incurious opinions of my fellow citizens.

That comes from a reasonably stable economy and lots of American Idol.

I disagree that we are lazy when it comes to attracting foreign investors. Consider Obama's lack of clarity on his tax policies and and the simple fact nobody in their right mind trusts him.

America is currently closed for business because of Obama. It's his fault, yet he has the audacity to be critical of us.

Screw him.

I disagree with just about everything he says.

And it pisses me off when our President goes to a foreign nation and talks shit about us!

You and your liberals pals may be lazy, but me and my conservative friends aren't!!

An interesting observation.

I noticed that there are almost no Romney threads. While people are stewing about whether or not Newt will be the nominee or not, I was sure that there would be a thread on the person everyone INSISTS will be the nominee.

So I actually went back a whole 9 pages before I could find a thread on Mitt Romney himself.

He could be the nominee and would do a good job of restoring the country to prosperity, but just as Obama wasn't for an individual mandate when he was a senator, [see his comments below and what he says about MA's individual mandate] I am reluctant to support Romney as first choice. However, I do feel that any of the candidtates running for the GOP nomination would be better than another 4 years of Barack Obama and his goal of socialism for America. I would vote for Romney in a fast heartbeat if he is the nominee.***

(…)

"It should be emphasized that while the individual mandate was clearly “necessary and essential” to the Act as drafted, it is not “necessary and essential” to health care reform in general. It is undisputed that there are various other (Constitutional) ways to accomplish what Congress wanted to do. Indeed, I note that in 2008, then-Senator Obama supported a health care reform proposal that did not include an individual mandate because he was at that time strongly opposed to the idea, stating that “if a mandate was the solution, we can try that to solve homelessness by mandating everybody to buy a house.” See Interview on CNN’s American Morning, Feb. 5, 2008, transcript available at: CNN.com - Transcripts.

In fact, he pointed to the similar individual mandate in Massachusetts — which was imposed under the state’s police power, a power the federal government does not have — and opined that the mandate there left some residents “worse off” than they had been before. See Christopher Lee, Simple Question Defines Complex Health Debate, Washington Post, Feb. 24, 2008, at A10 (quoting Senator Obama as saying: “In some cases, there are people [in Massachusetts] who are paying fines and still can’t afford [health insurance], so now they’re worse off than they were . . . They don’t have health insurance, and they’re paying a fine . . .”).

Oh.......so we don't need to do more to attract foreign investment and jobs into this country. If we did , Republicans would pout and say "Obama is calling us lazy"

Yes he should thank me. I'm gonna help him retire early.

Who are you proposing to run against him? Perry?

I can give you three reasons he can't win

I haven't decided yet. But I damn sure ain't gonna let the liberal media decide for me.

You'll know who I voted for when he/she wins the nomination.

How bout Newt? How bout Cain?

Come on Tex...make a stand.

Tell us who you like better than Romney. There must be someone......anyone

Ok smart-ass.

Tell us if you would still vote for Obama if you had better options.

Put your money where your mouth is.

Out of all of them I like Romney the least.

I haven't decided yet, I'm going to learn more about each candidate and make my decision at the ballot box.

I've always liked Newt.

The libs think they've got the goods on him but fact is they only have half-truths and smoke screens.

Newt would make a great President.

Just about anyone would, including Hillary.
