No Intellectuals allowed!!!!

Lol. Oh, I see, you're one of those. That explains a lot.

Obama is very bright. So was Rove. So was Cheney. Once again, intelligence is a different thing from you liking someone. You're letting emotion cloud your judgment.

Wrong. President Obama is NOt actually terribly bright.

Dick Cheney was.

Mr. Rove certainly is.

There are some intelligent liberal politicians, too.

But your fawning devotion to President Obama's alleged intellect is groundless.

YOU are letting your man-love for the President cloud your judgment.

Lol. Now because I won't join in with your universal condemnation it must mean "fawning devotion" on my part?

:lol::lol::lol:

Thanks for laugh, but don't expect me to take you seriously. You're clearly partisan beyond logic.

No no, silly boi.

Your fawning devotion is manifested in your mindless denial of the President's imbecility.

You could not -- ever -- if your life depended upon it -- substantiate your claim that he is in any way up to the task of being President.

He won. True. That is hardly evidence that he is suited for the task.

You are a rank partisan hiding behind a pretense so transparent, you might be mimicing Lindsay Lohan's homage to Marilyn Monroe!

"Boi"? lol. My, you are the perceptive one, aren'tcha?

You're amazingly partisan. Are you going for satire here?

You could not -- ever -- if your life depended upon it -- substantiate your claim that he is in any way up to the task of being President.

My claim was that he's intelligent. What are you blathering about me substantiating? I have no idea if he's up to the task of being President in our current situation. I also don't know who I could definitively say would be. I can say with confidence, however, that Obama is not a moron, and only a partisan or an idiot with comprehension issues would say that he was. I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt and assuming that your issue is emotional rather than a lack of intelligence. But honestly, you're kinda pushing credulity on that one.

You are a rank partisan hiding behind a pretense so transparent, you might be mimicing Lindsay Lohan's homage to Marilyn Monroe!

I have no idea what you're referencing. I guess you're more up on your Linsey Lohan than I am. Would that be a sign of your genius?

Meanwhile, you're welcome to think I'm a partisan if that's what it takes for you to live with your own hypocrisy. Personally, I think you're the second best unintentional comedy I've seen on this board so far.

Rove?

So is sneakiness and dishonesty the new Republican "intellect"?

I wonder if it was one of those guys who came up with the plan to raise the terror alert to terrorise the American people into voting for Bush?

Rove has often boasted about how, when living in Chicago, he boldly walked into Democratic headquarters and stole a ream of letterhead. He had an invite for "free food" printed and then passed out the bogus invites to the homeless living under Wacker Drive to show up the same day and time as a Democratic fundraiser. Hundreds of homeless showed up and Rove laughed with glee that he had used these "homeless" to embarrass the Democratic Party. Never mind that these human beings were looking for "food". To Rove and the Republican "elite", the homeless are actually a "cult" to be used as they see fit. A genius. Someone Republicans should be proud of. He truly represents the "Republican Spirit". Think he'll stay out of prison?

I agree that Cheney and Rove were intelligent. But they are proof positive you must not only have intelligence you must direct it in the right direction. Both had a lack of a moral compass. The power of their intelligence was directected toward horrific policies for our country.

Many evil leaders were intellignt; Marx, Lenin, Stalin

Nice deflection.

ARE you saying that you are even POSSIBLY dumber than the sitting President?

Alleging Obama is somehow unintelligent is hyper-partisan bullshit. People don't get to that position if they're unintelligent.

Defending that moron's alleged intelligence is the hyper-partisan bull, Diarrhea.

That moron certainly got to that position DESPITE the fact that he's a complete mental midget.

As I said, people don't get to be President if they're unintelligent. Well not lately anyway.

I think Rove is probably fairly intelligent. He's definitely a quick learner, he learned all that stuff from his mentor Lee Atwater, the expert in dirty politics.

And the reactionaries on the right moan about Saul Alinsky

... you're being facetious, right?

do you really see them as your allies?

In many cases we were working toward the same policy ends, so yes, they were my allies in those projects.

One of the things that one realizes when one is truly involved in political games is that nobody is a permanent friend or enemy.

Things are too fluid and people too complex to fit them into permanent pigeon holes.

I have worked with very conservative Republicans and very liberal Democrats on the same issues.

Now in most cases these people are diametrically in opposition, but on some issues they find themselves on the same side.

This really is the nature of politics.

That simplistic us good them bad mentality bears no relationship to real political day-to-day politics.

pity, when good compromises with evil good always loses.

If but only life were as simple as your POV suggests.

Sadly, it isn't.

No, not being at all facetious. I meant it. I suppose I have to state that I don't consider George Bush to be unintelligent. In fact I can't think of an unintelligent president from Eisenhower to today.

Damn, this is one of the funniest things I've seen in awhile.

"Missionary Lizard" :lol::lol: Hilarious.

I don't think intelligence and happiness are related in the least. I know happy smart people and unhappy smart people. I know happy dumb people and miserable dumb people. Generally, my first choice for people to hang out with would be happy smart people. Second on the list would be happy dumb people. Third would be unhappy smart people. Dumb unhappy people come in dead last. Fortunately, I know quite a few happy smart people, so it's all good.

The happiest nation on earth is Denmark. They are socialist to the hilt.

Africans usually score very high on happiness ratings. How many Americans would rather live in Africa than America?

In my experience the smarter someone claims to be the more miserable they are. Some of them don't know how miserable they are because they offload it to whoever is nearby, but it doesn't change that only an unhappy person would have so much bitterness to spread around.

Now to the bold point...

Please provide the link to where I put smart people down.

The rest of the quoted part is too funny. Nothing we touch, wear, use, buy was created by people that weren't "smart". Really? How smart is that old guy at the farmers market where I buy produce? How smart is that little girl in Malaysia that's making clothes? I just went out to check the mail, on the way I touched a tree! What smart person was responsible for creating that tree? You're making this far too easy.

While the old guy at the farmers market may not be that smart, he may be very happy, but smart are the scientists who genetically enhanced his seed to withstand pests and grow in temperatures too cold or too hot. Or the engineers who developed alloys used in the tractors they designed that plow through hard dirt so that farmer can farm. Or the chemists who designed the fertilizer that farmer uses to get the best possible yield. Or the meteorologist who does his weather or the....

The right just knows the farmer, they don't think about those other things.

Except the farmer doesn't need any of hose things. People have been farming since before any of that stuff.

Actually, the farmer does need that stuff. If he didn't use the advances of science, he might be able to grow only 10%-20% of what he does today.

Hands up, all the people here at USMB who think Obama isn't intelligent and who also graduated magna cum laude from Harvard Law.

Anyone? Anyone?

Obama worked at the law firm Sidley & Austin. You don't work there being unintelligent.

No, just cannibalistic.
